One Night Only Collector's Edition 4K Blu-ray

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Will Gluck's romantic dramedy One Night Only (2026), starring Monica Barbaro, Callum Turner, Bobby Cannavale, Molly Ringwald, and LeVar Burton. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

A Little Help Blu-ray (Updated)

In an early announcement to retailers, Image Entertainment has indicated that A Little Help will arrive on Blu-ray this October. A dramedy from director Michael Weithorn (executive producer of The King of Queens) the film stars Jenna Fischer (The Office) as a beleaguered housewife who gets an unexpected boost from the sudden death of her husband (Chris O'Donnell, Batman Forever). A Little Help streets on October 25th.

Blu-ray Sales, July 25-July 31: Source Code is No. 1

For the week ending July 31, Source Code finished on top of the Blu-ray sales chart. The sci-fi thriller had a successfull box office release, produced with a low production budget of $32 million, the film finished its worldwide theatrical run with $123 million. The Jake Gyllenhaal mind twister was a hit on the Blu-ray sales chart earning 41% of its total unit sales from the HD format.

New Release Date for Blue Velvet in France

David Lynch's crime thriller Blue Velvet has received a new release date in France. According to preliminary information sent to online retailers, Fox Pathé Europa will release the film as a combo pack (Blu-ray/DVD) on October 5th. Exact technical specs and region coding status, however, are unknown at the moment.

Last Night Gets a UK Blu-ray Release

Optimum Home Entertainment have revealed that they will release on Blu-ray Massy Tadjedin's Last Night (2010), starring Keira Knightley (Pride & Prejudice, Atonement), Sam Worthington (Dirty Deeds, Somersault), Eva Mendes (Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans), and Guillaume Canet (Tell No One, The Key). Last year, the film was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival. Street date is October 17th.

Independent British distributors G2 Pictures will release on Blu-ray Guy Moshe's Bunraku (2010), starring Woody Harrelson, Josh Hartnett, Ron Perlman and Demi Moore. The film premiered last year at the Toronto International Film Festival. Street date is October 3.

The Darkest Hour Trailer

Summit Entertainment has released the theatrical trailer for their upcoming sci-fi pic The Darkest Hour. The film, which was officially unveiled at this year's Comic Con, stars Emile Hirsch as a young American caught in an alien invasion while abroad in Moscow, Russia. The film will hit theaters in 3D on December 23rd, 2011.

This raucous FX comedy follows the antics that arise as five men compete against one another in their fantasy football league. This October, Universal Studios Home Entertainment will release director Brett Ratner's The Family Man on Blu-ray. The holiday dramedy stars Nicolas Cage (Raising Arizona) as a successful Wall Street trader who meets a street-smart angel (Don Cheadle, Out of Sight) and is given a glimpse at a middle-class life with the girl of his dreams (Téa Leoni, Bad Boys). The Family Man streets on October 11th.

Dimension Extreme will release The Zombie Diaries 2: World Of The Dead on Blu-ray this October. The follow-up to the cult favorite The Zombie Diaries, this sequel takes a faux-documentary approach to zombie horror, as an embedded journalist and a small military unit try to cross the English countryside while avoiding both the undead as well as roving gangs of living marauders. The film streets on October 11th.

The Hollywood Knights Blu-ray

Image Entertainment will release The Hollywood Knights on Blu-ray this October. Written and directed by American Hot Wax's Floyd Mutrux, this comedy follows the Hollywood Knights gang as they terrorize Beverly Hills on Halloween night, circa 1965. The film features Michelle Pfeiffer (Batman Returns), Tony Danza (Crash), Fran Drescher (This is Spinal Tap), and Robert Wuhl (Bull Durham) as the Knights' leader. The Hollywood Knights streets on October 18th.

Lionsgate will bring the controversial thriller Red State to Blu-ray on October 18th. The indie film, which has yet to receive a wide theatrical release, was toured by writer/director Kevin Smith prior to the distribution deal with Lionsgate. A SRP of $29.98 has been set.

The German branch of Sony Pictures will release The Guns of Navarone on Blu-ray this October. Based on Alistair MacLean's novel, the film stars Gregory Peck (The Omen), Anthony Quinn (Last Action Hero), and David Niven (Casino Royale) as a team of Allied soldiers on a top-secret mission to destroy a German gun encampment on the Greek island of Navarone. This dark Ealing comedy focuses on Louis Mazzini (Dennis Price, A Canterbury Tale) - the black sheep of the aristocratic D'Ascoyne dynasty - who decides to reclaim his inheritance by murdering the eight heirs (Star Wars's Alec Guinness) succeeding him in the family line. Trinity X, the newly formed subdivision of independent British distributors Trinity Films, which according to its co-director Mark Sandell will focus on "much more risk-taking projects that may not sit very easily with exhibitors", has announced that it will release on Blu-ray Simon Rumley's hard-edged, psycho-sexual thriller Red, White & Blue (2010). Street date is October 10th.
