One Night Only Collector's Edition 4K Blu-ray

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Will Gluck's romantic dramedy One Night Only (2026), starring Monica Barbaro, Callum Turner, Bobby Cannavale, Molly Ringwald, and LeVar Burton. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

In an early announcement to retailers, Summit Entertainment has revealed its plans to release A Better Life on Blu-ray. Directed by Chris Weitz (About a Boy), the film stars Demián Bichir (Che) as an immigrant gardener in Los Angeles trying to provide for his teenage son while facing great challenges. A Better Life is expected to street on October 18th.

Elite Squad 2: The Enemy Within Blu-ray Coming Up

Independent British distributors Revolver Entertainment have revealed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of José Padilha's highly anticipated Tropa de Elite 2 - O Inimigo Agora É Outro a.k.a Elite Squad 2: The Enemy Within (2010). Technical specs and region coding status for this release are unknown at the moment, but the preliminary release date set by the distributors is December 26th.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on Blu-ray Mark Raso's Brand New Day (2010). Winner of multiple film festival awards including an Official Selection at Sundance Film Festival, the film features a fantastic young cast of Australian actors and performers including newcomer Rocky McKenzie, pop singer and "Australian Idol" runner-up Jessica Mauboy, film and television star Ernie Dingo and up-and-coming singer/songwriter Missy Higgins.

Criterion Teases Gojira (Godzilla) Blu-ray

Criterion has posted an image of a film canister on Facebook that hints they may be restoring the first Godzilla film, Gojira for a future Blu-ray release. The Ishiro Honda film, which was released in the U.S. as Godzilla, King of the Monsters, received a Blu-ray release in 2009 but has yet to undergo a full restoration. No official announcement has been made.

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya Blu-ray

Bandai Entertainment will release The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya on Blu-ray this September. The feature-length anime focuses on the SOS Brigade, a group of uniquely gifted teenagers, and their leader, Haruhi Suzumiya, whose sudden disappearance plunges the group into an alternate reality. The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is expected to street on September 20th.

In anticipation of Scarface's Blu-ray debut on September 6th, Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Livestream are hosting a live Q&A with the film's cast and crew. This event, which includes producer Martin Bregman as well as stars Al Pacino, Steven Bauer, Robert Loggia, and F. Murray Abraham, will be broadcast tomorrow - August 23, 2011 - at 8:15pm PT/11:15pm ET and will be viewable through Facebook.

Details on Thor (Best Buy Exclusive Edition)

Paramount and Marvel have detailed the Best Buy Exclusive edition of Thor. The Blu-ray/DVD combo pack will feature collectible packaging showcasing the comic book "Journey into Mystery", which the introduced the character to readers back in 1962. Pre-orders will also include a one-month subscription to Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited. Thor streets on September 13th.

Spy Kids Triple Feature 3 Blu-ray Set

Lionsgate has announced that they will release the Spy Kids Triple Feature 3 Set on November 15th. The package will include all three of the Spy Kids adventure films directed by Robert Rodriguez. These include Spy Kids, Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams and Spy Kids 3: Game Over. A SRP of $39.99 has been set.

Infernal Affairs Blu-ray

This November, Lionsgate will release Infernal Affairs on Blu-ray. This seven-time winner at the Hong Kong Film Awards ceremony was the inspiration for director Martin Scorsese's The Departed; Tony Leung (Hard Boiled) stars as an undercover cop involved in a tense cat-and-mouse game with the criminal mole (Andy Lau, Shaolin) who has infiltrated the police force. Infernal Affairs is expected to street on November 15th.

While the American idea of a troll is likely to that of a nude, pot belly doll with varying shades of neon colored hair, the true mythology of trolls comes from Scandinavia. These large, imposing creatures remain a part of that culture even today, something that is very apparent with the success and popularity of today's Blu-ray release of Troll Hunter.

Bandai Entertainment will release K-On! Vol. 3 on Blu-ray this September. The third high-definition compilation of the Japanese anime series, K-On! Vol. 3 follows Azusa as she joins the Light Music Club and learns first-hand about the responsibilities, challenges, and excitement of playing in the band. In an early announcement to retailers, FUNimation has revealed it will bring Trigun: Badlands Rumble to Blu-ray this fall. An all-new, feature-length anime based on the popular television series, the film follows Vash the Stampede as he battles Gasback, a robber with a murderous grudge against Vash. Well Go USA Media has, in an early retail announcement, revealed plans to bring Shaolin to Blu-ray. This adventure stars Andy Lau (Infernal Affairs) as an arrogant general who, after being betrayed by his second-in-command (Nicholas Tse, Invisible Target), teams up with a cook (Jackie Chan, Rush Hour) and an order of Shaolin monks to defeat the evil warlords plaguing China. Shaolin is expected to street on October 25th.

In an early retail announcement, Inception Media has revealed it will bring Severe Clear to Blu-ray. Director Kristian Fraga's documentary provides a ground-level look at the first wave of the War on Terror, seen through the eyes of First Lieutenant Mike Scotti. This November, MGM Home Entertainment will expand its Blu-ray release schedule for both Quigley Down Under and The Big Country. Quigley Down Under tells the story of an enigmatic sharpshooter (Tom Selleck, Magnum, P.I.) adrift in Australia, while The Big Country is a sprawling melodrama focusing on the struggles of a ranching dynasty. Previously available as Walmart exclusives, these two Westerns street everywhere on November 1st.

In an early announcement to retailers, Acorn Media has indicated that it will release Brideshead Revisited in a special 30th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray this November 1st. The acclaimed adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's novel, this 11-part miniseries contains a star-making performance from Jeremy Irons (Appaloosa) as Charles Ryder, a young man deeply affected by his relationship with the aristocratic Flyte family.

Virgil Films and Entertainment will bring Christmas with a Capital C to Blu-ray this fall. The film looks at the legal battle between the people of Trapper Falls and lawyer Mitch Bright (Daniel Baldwin, Homicide: Life on the Streets), a battle that occurs when Bright tries to do away with one of the town's most beloved Christmas traditions. This November, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release Hook on Blu-ray. Director Steven Spielberg's continuation of the Peter Pan legend, the film stars Robin Williams (Insomnia) as Peter - now grown up and a successful lawyer - who must travel back to Neverland in order to rescue his children from Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman, The Graduate). Hook streets on November 1st.

The British Film Institute will release a Dual Format Edition of Chris Monger's Voice Over (1981), a provocative drama about a radio storyteller whose fictional tales of 19th century romance are in strong contrast to his own squalid lifestyle. French distributors France Télévisions Distribution will release on Blu-ray Antoine Blossier's horror thriller La Traque a.k.a Prey (2010), starring Grégoire Colin, François Levantal, Fred Ulysse, and Bérénice Bejo.
