Lionsgate Home Entertainment will release The Expendables on Blu-ray this December. Writer/director Sylvester Stallone's action epic now has eleven additional minutes integrated into the main feature. From Lionsgate's official press release:
"The Expendables Extended Director's Cut follows a team of hardened mercenaries...who are sent on what becomes a suicide mission to overthrow a ruthless dictator. The film had an explosive impact on the box office in 2010, making it the #1 film in America two weeks running, and bringing in over $274 million worldwide."
While the studio has not yet announced the full technical specifications for the Blu-ray, this new edition will feature the following supplemental bonuses:
Newly recorded introduction to the film by Sylvester Stallone
Featurette on Stallone and his directing career
Inferno, a feature-length behind-the-scenes documentary
The Spike TV program, Action: The Expendables
Music video from Sully Erna of Godsmack
The Expendables: Extended Director's Cut is expected to street on December 13th.
