Universal Studios Home Entertainment is set to release on Blu-ray John Madden's thriller The Debt (2010), starring Helen Mirren, Tom Wilkinson, Sam Worthington, Jessica Chastain, and Ciarán Hinds. Last year, the film was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The film begins in 1997, as shocking news reaches retired Mossad secret agents Rachel (Mirren) and Stefan (Wilkinson) about their former colleague David (Hinds). All three have been venerated for decades by their country because of the mission that they undertook back in 1966, when the trio (portrayed, respectively, by Chastain, Csokas, and Worthington) tracked down Nazi war criminal Vogel (Christensen) in East Berlin. At great risk, and at considerable personal cost, the team's mission was accomplished – or was it? The suspense builds in and across two different time periods, with startling action and surprising revelations.
Update: Universal's Blu-ray presents the film in its original aspect ratio of 2.39:1 with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. The disc also has a number of bonus supplements, including:
