Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Independent British distributors Revolver Entertainment have revealed a preliminary release date for Japanese director Takashi Miike's highly-anticipated Ichimei a.k.a Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai (2011), a remake of Masaki Kobayashi's classic Seppuku a.k.a Harakiri. Earlier this year, director Miike's film was nominated for the prestigious Palme d'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival.

As reported earlier this month by Blu-ray.com, in 2012 independent distributors Kino Lorber will release a number of classic and cult European films via its newly created "Redemption" label. Among the first films to transition to Blu-ray will be French master Jean Rollin's erotic vampire films The Nude Vampire (1970), Shiver of the Vampires (1971), The Iron Rose (1973), Lips of Blood (1974), and Fascination (1979).

This version of the Brendan Fraser-starring family adventure presents the film in full HD 3D; previous Blu-ray editions only used Anaglyph 3D. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has confirmed on their publicity website that Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star will arrive on Blu-ray next year. The Adam Sandler-produced comedy stars Nick Swardson (30 Minutes or Less) as the title character, a Midwestern innocent who moves to Hollywood and enters the adult film industry. Independent distributors Tanelorn Films have revealed that they are planning to begin releasing on Blu-ray in Q4. The distributors will release three early films by acclaimed Spanish director Julio Medem (Lovers of the Arctic Circle, Chaotic Ana): Vacas (1992), La ardilla roja a.k.a The Red Squirrel (1993), and Tierra a.k.a Earth (1996).

Update: Paramount and Yahoo Movies have released the second theatrical trailer for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. The film will mark the live-action directorial debut for Brad Bird (The Incredibles); it stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Josh Holloway and Paula Patton.
