In an early retail announcement, Music Box Films has revealed plans to bring Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life to Blu-ray. Director Joann Sfar's biopic stars Eric Elmosnino (Summer Hours) as Serge Gainsbourg, a French icon whose desires and obsessions fueled his cultural relevance; starting with his song-writing years in the 1960s through his death in 1991, Gainsbourg went from social provocateur to pop star and back again.
Based on Sfar's own graphic novel, the film also features Lucy Gordon (Spider-Man 3), Laetitia Casta (The Maiden and the Wolves), Doug Jones (Pan's Labyrinth), and Claude Chabrol (director of Le beau Serge).
Music Box has not yet detailed the Blu-ray's technical and supplementary specifications.
Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life is expected to street on March 6th.
