Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

The Hunger Games Sells 3.8 Million Discs in its First Weekend

Lionsgate Films announced today that The Hunger Games sold estimated 3.8 million Blu-ray and DVD units in its first weekend of release. Gary Ross' blockbuster generated more than $407 million at the North American box office, the 13th highest grossing North American release of all time.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release a combo pack edition of acclaimed director Oliver Stone's Savages (2012), starring Aaron Johnson, Taylor Kitsch and Blake Lively. DreamWorks Animation Goes to 20th Century Fox

DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. said late Monday that it signed a new five-year distribution deal with 20th Century Fox Entertainment. The deal covers distribution of packaged media, digital and subscription video-on-demand content. Fox replaces Paramount Pictures, which was DreamWorks' partner since 2006.
