Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

Chief among them is Anchor Bay's The Walking Dead: The Complete Second Season package. One of AMC's biggest commercial successes, The Walking Dead's second season saw the show in transition after the highly publicized departure of its showrunner, filmmaker Frank Darabont.

Sony Pictures Classics has picked up the U.S. distribution rights to Robert Redford's latest film, The Company You Keep (2012), starring Robert Redford, Shia LaBeouf, Julie Christie, Sam Elliott, Stanely Tucci, and Nick Nolte. Orson Welles' Citizen Kane, the previous top pick, was replaced by Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. The BFI has now released a short trailer highlighting the ten best films.

For the week ending on August 19th, the biggest home media success was Lionsgate Home Entertainment's new release of The Hunger Games. Produced for a modest $78 million budget, this adaptation of author Suzanne Collins' dystopian science-fiction novel garnered Lionsgate a big win when it premiered theatrically last March, and the film's home media fortunes seem similarly lucrative.
