This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Scream Factory and Shout Factory have announced their November batch of releases. They are: The Chow Yun-Fat Collection Volume One, The Family Man (2000), Women in Prison Collection (1971-1985), and The Transformers: The Movie (1986).

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

20th Century Studios is preparing a combo pack release of Peter Weir's Dead Poets Society (1989), starring Robin Williams, Robert Sean Leonard, Ethan Hawke, Josh Charles, and Gale Hansen. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on September 29.

Return to Never Land Blu-ray

Walt Disney Home Entertainment has officially announced the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack release of Return to Never Land, the 2002 sequel to the 1953 animated classic, Peter Pan. Follow Wendy Darling's daughter, Jane, to Never Never Land when the film arrives on Blu-ray on August 20th.

Tsui Hark and Yuen Wo Ping Team Up for Another Zu Warriors Film

Veteran Hong Kong director Tsui Hark and acclaimed martial arts choreographer and director Yuen Wo Ping are teaming up for the production of Zu Warriors: Dawn Of Darkness. The film, which will be shot in 3D, will be produced by Tsui Hark and directed by Yuen Wo Ping. The Bona Film Group is financing the project.

Magnolia Pictures has detailed its upcoming Blu-ray release of Kristi Jacobson and Lori Silverbush's documentary A Place at the Table (2012). Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at last year's Sundance Film Festival, A Place at the Table will be available for purchase online and in stores across the United States on June 25th.

Redemption Films has announced that it has acquired five films by acclaimed French writer and director Alain Robbe-Grillet: Trans-Europe-Express (1967), The Man Who Lies (1968), Eden and After (1970) and Slow Slidings of Pleasure! (1974). Also included as an extra with Eden and After is the film's alternate version N Take the Dice (1971).

The Sword in the Stone: 50th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray

This summer, Walt Disney Home Entertainment is bringing The Sword in the Stone to Blu-ray in celebration of the film's 50th anniversary. The 1963 animated adaptation of the T. H. White novel of the same name was Walt Disney Animation's 18th feature, and makes its Blu-ray debut on August 6th.
