Pathe Distribution have revealed that they are planning to bring to Blu-ray award-winning director Daniele Thompson's latest film Des gens qui s'embrassent a.k.a It Happened in Saint-Tropez (2012), starring Kad Merad, Monica Bellucci, Eric Elmosnino, and Lou de Laage. The release is set to arrive on the French market on September 10th.
The film follows closely two very different brothers - the extravagant Roni (Merad), whose daughter will soon be married, and Zef (Eric Elmosnino), who has just lost his wife. Their professions, their life choices and even their wives couldn't be more different. Religious austerity on one side, intense enjoyment of life's pleasures on the other. They have nothing in common but their aging father who's losing his grip and their respective daughters who adore one another. From London to Paris, New York to Saint Tropez, showdowns, misunderstandings and betrayals all serve to blow up the family landscape. But out of the rubble of those arguments and haphazard reconciliations will blossom a beautiful love story -- or two.
Note: In 2006, Daniele Thompson's Avenue Montaigne was selected to represent France at the 79th Annual Academy Awards. The French director's Le code a change a.k.a Change of Plans is already out on Blu-ray. See our listing and review of this release here.
