Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Blu-ray Sales: August 9-15: Project Hail Mary Fends Off Mars Attacks! in First Week

For the week that ended on August 15th, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts in its debut. Second place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Mars Attacks!, which was released on 4K UHD this week, while third place went to Warner's own Mortal Kombat II in its third week.

This Week on Blu-ray: August 24-30

For the week of August 24th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Other new releases include Disclosure Day from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, The Sheep Detectives from Alliance Entertainment, Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story from Shudder, Carolina Caroline from Magnolia Home Entertainment, Reacher: Season Three from Paramount Home Media Distribution, Father Mother Sister Brother from MUBI, Power Ballad from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, The Breadwinner from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and The Audacity: Season 1 from AMC Studios.

20th Century Studios is preparing a combo pack release of Peter Weir's Dead Poets Society (1989), starring Robin Williams, Robert Sean Leonard, Ethan Hawke, Josh Charles, and Gale Hansen. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on September 29.

Blu-ray Sales, Dec. 30-Jan. 5: Still No Stopping Despicable Me 2

For the week that ended on January 5th, Universal Studios' Despicable Me 2 again took the number one spot on both the Blu-ray-only and overall package media charts. This animated comedy - the sequel to the 2010 surprise hit - netted Universal a healthy profit last summer, grossing over $918 million worldwide, and it has continued this success on the small-screen. On the home media platforms, Despicable Me 2 has been number one for four weeks.

Star Blazers 2199: Volume 1 Blu-ray

Voyager Entertainment will release the first volume of Yutaka Izubuchi's Star Blazers 2199, which features the first four episodes of the 2012 remake of the original 1974 series, Space Battleship Yamato. Five volumes are set to follow, although dates have yet to be announced. Volume 1 arrives on Blu-ray on February 27th.

Houston-based anime distributor Section23 Films and Sentai Filmworks have detailed the Blu-ray release of studio J.C.Staff and director Atsuko Ishizuka's Pet Girl of Sakurasou: Collection 2. The next twelve episodes of the romantic comedy anime series streets on March 11th. Collection 1 is already available on Blu-ray.

Russian Blockbuster Stalingrad Heads to U.S. IMAX Theaters

Director Fedor Bondarchuk epic war film Stalingrad, a box office hit in Russia last year, is coming to U.S. IMAX 3D theaters in February. Columbia Pictures will distribute the film, which was selected to represent Russia in the best Foreign Language Film category of the 2014 Academy Awards.

Stanley Donen's Bedazzled Heading to Blu-ray

German distributors Alive have revealed that they are planning to release on Blu-ray director Stanley Donen's Bedazzled (1967), starring Raquel Welch, Peter Cook, Dudley Moore, Eleanor Bron, and Alba. In addition to the original film, this Limited Edition release (2BD/DVD), will also contain director Harold Ramis' remake, starring Brendan Fraser, Elizabeth Hurley, and Frances O'Connor. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is March 14th.

Independent U.S. distributors Strand Releasing have revealed that they are panning to bring to Blu-ray Gregg Araki's Mysterious Skin (2004), starring Brady Corbet, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Elisabeth Shue, Lisa Long, and Michelle Trachtenberg. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is March 18th.
