One Night Only Collector's Edition 4K Blu-ray

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Will Gluck's romantic dramedy One Night Only (2026), starring Monica Barbaro, Callum Turner, Bobby Cannavale, Molly Ringwald, and LeVar Burton. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Criterion Teases Belle de Jour Blu-ray

While the Criterion Collection will release its January slate later this month, the distributor has just teased one of January's titles - director Luis Buñuel's classic Belle de Jour. The hint comes courtesy of Criterion's Facebook page, which includes what many believe is a cropped portrait of the film's star, Catherine Deneuve (A Christmas Tale).

Lorber Films, in association with Kino Video, will release on Blu-ray Belgian director Lucas Belvaux's (The Trilogy) thriller Rapt (2009), starring Yvan Attal, Anne Consigny, and Françoise Fabian. In 2010, the film earned four Cesar nominations. Street date is December 6th.

Sid and Nancy Blu-ray (Updated)

Alex Cox's Sid and Nancy (1986), starring Gary Oldman and Chloe Webb, quietly arrived on Blu-ray earlier this week, but currently it can be purchased only at selected Best Buy stores. However, the exclusivity deal ends on December 27th, and Amazon already has the title available for pre-order.

More Classic Films Coming From Kino

Kino Video have revealed that they are preparing Blu-ray releases of Albert Parker's silent Sherlock Holmes (1922) and Buster Keaton's Seven Chances (1925). Additionally, the studio is also bringing Frank Borzage's original Farewell to Arms (1932), winner of two Oscar Awards, and William A. Wellman's Nothing Sacred (1937).

The UK Also Gets Release Date For Pasolini's Medea

Following the U.S. announcement for Pier Paolo Pasolini's (Salo, or The 120 Days of Sodom) Medea (1967), the BFI have revealed that they will also release the film as a Dual Format Edition in the UK. Exact technical specs and region coding status for this release are unknown at the moment, but the preliminary release date set by the distributor is December 5th.

Four More Sony Catalog Titles From Image (Updated)

In addition to Friday's announcements of Adaptation and Stir Crazy, Image Entertainment also revealed plans to bring A Soldier's Story (1984), Nothing in Common (1986), See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989) and The Toy (1982) to Blu-ray. All four of the Sony catalog titles will street with a SRP of $17.97.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 30 Minutes or Less on Blu-ray this November. Director Ruben Fleischer's follow-up to his sleeper hit Zombieland, the action-comedy stars Academy Award-nominee Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) as a pizza delivery man forced to rob a bank by two inept criminals (Danny McBride, Eastbound & Down, and Nick Swardson, Just Go With It). 30 Minutes or Less is expected to street on November 29th.

The UK branch of StudioCanal (formerly Optimum Home Entertainment) will release on Blu-ray Spanish director Daniel Monzón's Cell 211 (2009), starring Luis Tosar, Alberto Ammann, Marta Etura, and Antonio Resines. In-Stat - "Blu-ray Players to Reach 105M by 2015"

In-Stat has released a new report which details the rise of Blu-ray across the globe until the year 2015. They predict that Blu-ray will reach 105m units shipped per year by 2015 and that Blu-ray will become the dominant physical format that year in both players and recorders.

The action-thriller, a remake of the Icelandic film Reykjavik-Rotterdam, stars Mark Wahlberg (The Fighter) as a former smuggler who must return to the criminal life in order to save his family. Warner Bros. has debuted the trailer for their holiday prestige picture Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Director Stephen Daldry's film stars newcomer Thomas Horn as a young boy on a quest of self-discovery through New York City one year after his father (Tom Hanks, Saving Private Ryan) dies in the September 11th attacks. The film is scheduled for limited U.S. release on December 25th, 2011 before expanding worldwide in 2012.

For the week ending 09/25/11, Bridesmaids, laughed its way to the top of the Blu-ray sales chart. The comedy was an unexpected Summer 2011 blockbuster, produced with a modest $32.5 budget, the film finished its theatrical run with a worldwide box office total of $285 million. Bridesmaids finished its initial week of home video release with 30% of its package media sales deriving from the HD format
