Filled to the brim with a strong, comedic cast,
30 Minutes or Less puts a different spin on the typical buddy action/comedy genre that typically falls under its own weight. Instead, director Ruben Fleischer is able to extract the best performances from the cast, which includes reuniting with
Zombieland star Jesse Eisenberg, to deliver a well-balanced film. The only shortcoming may be that Fleischer played it too safe, preventing this good film from becoming a classic.

30 Minutes or Less Blu-ray review, "It's not always on the top of its game, but it's just different enough to offer cinephiles a nice change-of-pace from the usual big Action movies and repetitively dull sex comedies. Sony's Blu-ray release, no surprise, is shipshape. Video and audio are pretty much faultless, and the included extras are right on the money in terms of length and scope for a movie like this."
The Smurfs have been a much-loved children's series for decades, so it was with much apprehension when Sony announced they would be turning the cartoon into a live action CGI film. While the resulting film was – from a revisiting warm memories from your childhood standpoint – a complete disaster, audiences loved the new, updated characters. Older audiences must be warned that this is not the Papa Smurf you remember, but younger audiences, with little to no exposure to the 80's cartoon series, will likely fall in love with the little blue guys.

Paul Rudd might be considered the star of
Our Idiot Brother, but the supporting cast – featuring strong performances by Elizabeth Banks and Zooey Deschanel – does much of the heavy lifting. The result is a great feel-good comedy/drama which focuses on family – something that can be much appreciated as Thanksgiving celebrations come to an end (the turkey is nearly gone!) and Christmas celebrations begin. As friends and family gather this holiday season, this is the type of movie that all can enjoy – little tikes not included.
