One Night Only Collector's Edition 4K Blu-ray

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Will Gluck's romantic dramedy One Night Only (2026), starring Monica Barbaro, Callum Turner, Bobby Cannavale, Molly Ringwald, and LeVar Burton. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

French distributors France Télévisions Distribution have revealed that they will release on Blu-ray Vincent Garenq's Présumé coupable a.k.a Guilty (2011), starring Philippe Torreton, Raphaël Ferret, and Wladimir Yordanoff. Earlier this year, Guilty won Label Europa Cinemas Award for Best European Film at the Venice Film Festival. Street date is January 18th.

Beginners Blu-ray

The UK branch of Universal Studios will release on Blu-ray Mike Mills' dramedy Beginners (2010), starring Ewan McGregor, Christopher Plummer, Mélanie Laurent, and Goran Visnjic. Last year, the film was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival. Street date is November 14th.

German distributors Koch Entertainment have revealed that they are planning to release on BLu-ray a trio of classic films: Henry Hathaway's Legend of the Lost (1957), starring Sophia Loren and John Wayne; Sergio Corbucci's Navaho Joe (1966), starring Burt Reynolds, Fernando Rey, and Aldo Sambrell; and Richard T. Heffron's Futureworld (1976), starring Yul Brynner and Peter Fonda.

Exclusive 'Pulp Fiction' Interview Clip

Blu-ray.com has received courtesy of Lionsgate and Miramax an exclusive online clip of interviews which were filmed in anticipation for the upcoming Blu-ray release of Pulp Fiction, but which were not utilized in the final cut of the all new interview supplement included on the Blu-ray.

This November, Image Entertainment will bring Alleged to Blu-ray. The period drama stars Nathan West (Miracle) as Charles Anderson, a young reporter whose life is forever changed when the Scopes "Monkey Trial" of 1925 begins in his hometown of Dayton, Tennessee. Co-starring Fred Dalton Thompson (Die Hard 2) and Brian Dennehy (The Next Three Days), Alleged streets on November 8th.

Universal To Distribute Tower Heist Through Video-On-Demand (Updated)

Universal Studios will offer its upcoming action-comedy Tower Heist through video-on-demand three weeks after its November 4th theatrical release. The film will be the highest profile release from a major Hollywood studio to receive such treatment. The studio will first give Tower Heist to digital cable subscribers of the Comcast Corporation in both Atlanta, Georgia, and Portland, Oregon. Update: Universal has canceled this VOD release.

Official Trailer for My Week With Marilyn

The Weinstein Company has released the trailer for its prestige picture My Week With Marilyn. Director Simon Curtis' docudrama details the tensions that grew between Sir Lawrence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh, Wallander) and Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams, Blue Valentine) during the 1957 production of The Prince and the Showgirl. Already drawing Oscar talk for Williams' lead performance, the film is scheduled for a U.S. opening date on November 4th.

Synapse Films will release Intruder on Blu-ray this December. Director Scott Spiegel's 1989 horror film centers on a homicidal maniac hunting the overnight staff at a supermarket. Featuring performances from cult favorites like Bruce Campbell (Army of Darkness) and Ted Raimi (Drag Me to Hell), this Director's Cut Blu-ray edition of Intruder is expected to street on December 13th.

Gantz II: Perfect Answer Blu-ray

Next year, Warner Home Entertainment will release Gantz II: Perfect Answer on Blu-ray. A live-action adaptation of the popular manga, the film follows the continuing adventures of Kurono (Kazunari Ninomaya, Letters from Iwo Jima) as he fights for survival inside a bizarre, alien-killing game series. Gantz II: Perfect Answer is expected to street on January 17th, 2012.

Disney Teases Finding Nemo Blu-ray

On the heels of their announcement to re-release Finding Nemo theatrically in 3D, Walt Disney Studios has now teased a Blu-ray edition of the same film. The last full-length Pixar production not available in high-definition, Finding Nemo is the studio's second-highest grossing theatrical feature. The minute-long teaser has Albert Brooks and Ellen DeGeneres' characters swimming towards a "Disney Blu-ray" graphic.

Cowboys and Aliens Blu-ray

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray release of Jon Favreau's sci-fi/western mash-up Cowboys and Aliens. The film, which stars Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford, will be available in a Blu-ray/DVD/digital copy combo pack and feature an extended cut with 17 minutes of additonal footage. A release date of December 6th has been set.

This December, Dreamworks and Walt Disney Home Entertainment will bring The Help to Blu-ray. An adaptation of Kathryn Stockett's bestselling novel, the late-summer box-office hit stars Emma Stone (Easy A) as a young woman whose interest in the African-American maids serving her and her friends' households threatens to unseat the accepted social norms of her Jackson, Mississippi community. The Help streets on December 6th.

Paramount Pictures have released a teaser trailer for their upcoming production, The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn. Starring Jamie Bell in the title role, Tintin, the movie is directed by Steven Spielberg with Peter Jackson is the producer. Following the success of The Lion King in 3D, Disney announced plans today to re-release four more animated catalog titles to theaters in Disney Digital 3D. According to their official release, Beauty and the Beast and Finding Nemo will hit theaters in 2012 followed by Monsters, Inc. and The Little Mermaid in 2013.

Steven Spielberg's War Horse Trailer (Updated)

The first trailer for Steven Spielberg's upcoming period drama War Horse has gone online. The film, based on the children's novel and its stage adaptation, centers on the relationship of a young boy (Jeremy Irvine) and his horse in the midst of World War I. War Horse, which is being distributed under Disney's Touchstone banner, is scheduled for a December 28, 2011 premiere.

CEATEC: Toshiba Announce Blu-ray DBR-M190 with 5TB of Storage

Toshiba have announced a Blu-ray recorder with 5TB of hard drive storage for OTA HD recording functionality. It also includes 3D Blu-ray playback and the standard fair HD audio decoding and bitstream capability. The system can also act as a home server making recorded shows available over a network.
