One Night Only Collector's Edition 4K Blu-ray

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Will Gluck's romantic dramedy One Night Only (2026), starring Monica Barbaro, Callum Turner, Bobby Cannavale, Molly Ringwald, and LeVar Burton. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

UK-based Revolver Entertainment has set a preliminary release date for Justin Kurzel's Snowtown (2011), starring Daniel Henshall, Lucas Pittaway, and Craig Coyne. The South Australian film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, where it won FIPRESCI Prize - Special Mention. Its North American premiere was at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Street date is March 19th.

Independent distributors Magnolia Pictures have revealed that they will release on Blu-ray Takeshi Kitano's Autoreiji a.k.a Outrage (2010). Last year, the film was nominated for the prestigious Palme d'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Exact technical specs and region coding status for this release are unknown at the moment, but the release date set by the distributors is January 31.

British distributors Icon Home Entertainment have officially announced that they will release on Blu-ray Finnish director Jalmari Helander's Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale (2010), starring Onni Tommila, Jorma Tommila, and Tommi Korpela. The press release, however, does not specify what special features, if any, will be included on the Blu-ray Street date is November 7th.

Opening Distribution, a French label, has revealed that it is planning to release on Blu-ray Otto Preminger's Exodus (1960), starring Paul Newman, Ralph Richardson, and Eva Marie Saint. In 1961, the film won Oscar Award for Best Music, Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture (Ernest Gold). Street date is January 18th.

In a sudden announcement, Sony Pictures has decided to give Roland Emmerich's Anonymous a limited release. The historical conspiracy thriller, which posits that playwright William Shakespeare did not author his celebrated dramas, was set for a wide opening next weekend. Yesterday, however, Sony decided to reduce its opening to only 250 theaters as a means of maximizing viewer interest.

While HBO and Warner Home Entertainment have yet to announce an official release date for Game of Thrones: The Complete First Season on Blu-ray, Warner's publicity website now displays a Game of Thrones Blu-ray Sampler listing. This single-disc release appears to be for promotional use only, but it is scheduled to street on January 10th, 2012, suggesting that consumers may see a full season set in the near future.

Warner Bros. has unveiled the second trailer for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. The next entry in the franchise has Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Holmes and Jude Law joining him once again as Watson. Newcomers include Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the the Dragon Tattoo) and Jared Harris (Mad Men). A Game of Shadows has been set for December 16th, 2011 release.

'The Lion King' and 'Fast Five' Drive Blu-ray to a New Sales Record

The successful Blu-ray release of The Lion King and the home video debut of Fast Five resulted in a new weekly Blu-ray revenue share record. For the week ending 10/08/11, Blu-ray's market share of total package media sales was an all time best 40%. The new mark bested the previous record of 35% established on the week ending 9/17/11, which marked the initial bow of Star Wars.
