Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Director Elia Kazan's adaptation of the Tennessee Williams play focuses on the physical and mental battle of wills between fading socialite Blanche DuBois (Vivien Leigh, Gone with the Wind) and her brutish, domineering brother-in-law (Marlon Brando, The Godfather). Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the official teaser trailer for Men in Black 3. This long-delayed installment in director Barry Sonnenfeld's successful science-fiction-comedy franchise finds MIB Agent J (Will Smith, Men in Black) traveling back in time to investigate a bizarre interplanetary case. Men in Black 3's U.S. release date is scheduled for May 25th, 2012.

In its first week in stores The Smurfs bowed on top of the Blu-ray and the overall sales charts. The Sony Pictures release was a box office hit as it finished its theatrical ticket sales with a worldwide total of $562 million, and started its home video run by toppling three time Blu-ray weekly sales champ Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 from the No. 1 spot.

Independent distributors Shout Factory have officially announced that they will release a on Blu-ray Transformers Prime: Season One. This Limited Edition 4-disc set will include all 26 action-packed episodes (including the 5-part miniseries Darkness Rising) and special bonus content, as well as a 96-page IDW graphic novel based on the hit series. Street date is March 6th.

Criterion Teases The Last Temptation of Christ Blu-ray

While the Criterion Collection will not release their March 2012 Blu-ray slate until December 15th, the distributor has posted another still frame on its Facebook page hinting at a potential title. Criterion will not confirm anything, but most seem to think that the tease indicates a Last Temptation of Christ disc, which would mark the film's North American Blu-ray debut.
