Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Best known for his work on grand-scale disaster pictures like Independence Day, director Roland Emmerich has crafted this historical conspiracy thriller which posits that Edward De Vere, the Earl of Oxford (Rhys Ifans, Mr. Nice), was the actual author of William Shakespeare's dramas. Next year, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will bring The Rum Diary to Blu-ray. Directed by Bruce Robinson (Withnail & I), this adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson's early novel stars Johnny Depp (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) as a debauched journalist working for a newspaper in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Rum Diary streets on February 14th, 2012.

Independent distributors Arc Entertainment have revealed that they are planning to release on Blu-ray The Way (2010), Emilio Estevez's fourth film as writer/director and the third collaboration with his actor/father, Martin Sheen. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is February 21.

Lawrence of Arabia Gets UK Release Date

In an early announcement to retailers, the UK branch of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed that it is planning to release on Blu-ray director David Lean's epic Lawrence of Arabia (1962). Exact technical specs, region coding status and supplemental features to be included on this release are unknown at the moment, but the preliminary street date set by the studio is June 4th.

Director Christopher Nolan's highly anticipated follow-up to The Dark Knight finds Batman (Christian Bale, The Fighter) squaring off against vicious criminal mastermind Bane (Tom Hardy, Warrior). For sales week ending 12/11/2011, The Hangover Part II laughed its way to the top of the Blu-ray sales chart. Albeit not as funny nor as original as the first installement, the wolfpack still attracted plenty of HD disc buyers in its home video bow. Coming off an amazing theatrical run which includes a worlwide box office total of $581 million, the raunchy comedy raked 44% of its package sales from Blu-ray Discs.
