Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

Summit Home Entertainment will bring The Three Musketeers to Blu-ray in March. This retelling of the Alexandre Dumas classic stars Logan Lerman (3:10 to Yuma) as young D'Artagnan, whose quest for justice allies him with three former Musketeers (Matthew Macfadyen, Pride & Prejudice, Luke Evans, Clash of the Titans, and Ray Stevenson, Rome). The Three Musketeers streets on March 13th.

Disney's John Carter Trailer (Updated)

Disney has released the final theatrical trailer for their upcoming sci-fi epic John Carter. The film is directed by Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo) and centers on former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch, Friday Night Lights) as he is transported to Mars and becomes involved in a war between the inhabitants of the planet. John Carter is set for a March 9th, 2012 release. Updated with new Super Bowl teaser.

Official Battleship Theatrical Trailer (Updated)

Universal has released the final theatrical trailer for their upcoming sci-fi action film, Battleship. The film, which is based on the Hasbro board game of the same name, stars Taylor Kitsch, Liam Neeson, and Alexander Skarsgĺrd. A release date of May 18th, 2012 has been set. Carnage Blu-ray

In March, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will bring Carnage to Blu-ray. Director Roman Polanski's screen adaptation of the Yasmina Reza stageplay, this blackly comic examination of upper-class privilege and hypocrisy watches as the initially civil discourse between two New York City couples to discuss the schoolyard conflict between their respective sons begins to curdle. Carnage streets on March 20th.

Terracotta Distribution have revealed that they are planning to release on Blu-ray Korean director Yim Pil-Sung's Hansel and Gretel (2007). In 2009, the film won the Special Jury Award for Best International Fantasy Film and the Orient Express Section Grand Prize at Fantasporto. Street date is April 9th.

Directed by Academy Award-nominee Jason Reitman (Up in the Air), this dark comedy stars Charlize Theron (Monster) as Mavis Gary, an author of young adult fiction who returns to her hometown in order to romantically reconnect with her high-school sweetheart (Patrick Wilson, Watchmen). Young Adult is expected to street on March 13th.

Disney Teases 2012 Blu-ray Slate

On February 7th, Walt Disney Studios will street the new Lady and the Tramp Diamond Edition Blu-ray, which contains an insert teasing the distributor's 2012 Blu-ray slate. Titles include Pocahontas and its sequel, both Rescuers films, and a Diamond Edition Blu-ray of Cinderella. In addition, the insert also lists the Disney Vault date for both Bambi and Beauty and the Beast.

Image Entertainment have revealed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of Ronald Neame's The Odessa File (1974), starring Jon Voight, Maximilian Schell and Maria Schell. Exact technical specs, region coding status and supplemental features to be included on this release are unknown at the moment, but the preliminary release date set by the distributors is May 15th.
