Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

Arrow Films have revealed that they are planning to release on Blu-ray Hideyuki Hirayama's Oba: The Last Samurai a.k.a Battle of the Pacific (2011), starring Yutaka Takenouchi, Sean McGowan, Mao Inoue, Daniel Baldwin, and Treat Williams. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is June 11th.

Fox: Q2 Income Up, Blu-ray Growing

20th Century Fox reported Q2 income of $393 million, up 108% from the same period last year. According to the studio, the impressive results were driven by Rio, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, X-Men: First Class and Mr. Popper's Penguins, as well as the theatrical runs of Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked and The Descendants.

Disney Considers 28-Day Rental Delay

Disney CEO Bob Iger has told analysts that the studio is considering a 28-day rental delay, similar to the one 20th Century Fox and Universal Studios have imposed on Netflix and Redbox. However, the studio has not specified yet whether the delay is likely to affect the two rental giants.

Set in the same world that Matt Damon's popular Bourne Trilogy occupied, this thriller stars Jeremy Renner (The Town) as a troubled young man who becomes a covert CIA assassin. Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the teaser trailer for their 2012 blockbuster The Amazing Spider-Man. Director Marc Webb's new film is a reboot of the franchise. Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) now stars as Spider-Man, and Emma Stone (Easy A) will play the lead female role. The Amazing Spider-Man's scheduled U.S. release date is July 3rd.
