In June, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release The Artist on Blu-ray. Director Michel Hazanavicius (OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies) uses this loving ode to the cinema of yesteryear to contrast the fortunes between George Valentin (Jean Dujardin, OSS 117 - Lost in Rio), a movie star struggling with the transition between silent films and talking pictures, and Peppy Miller (Bérénice Bejo, A Knight's Tale), a spirited dancer who becomes famous as the "talkies" thrive.
John Goodman (The Big Lebowski), Penelope Ann Miller (Carlito's Way), and James Cromwell (Babe) co-star in this acclaimed motion picture, which - in addition to the honors it has already won, such as the BAFTA for Best Film of the Year and the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival - has received five Academy Awards, including:
