Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

Paramount to Distribute TF1 Video Blu-ray Products in France

Paramount Home Media Distribution and TF1 Video have become partners in France. Earlier today, the two companies announced that starting September 1 Paramount will distribute all TF1 Blu-ray and DVD releases to retailers and online vendors in France.

The Hunger Games Blu-ray

Next month, Lionsgate Home Entertainment will bring The Hunger Games to Blu-ray. This adaptation of author Suzanne Collins' popular science-fiction novel focuses on the post-apocalyptic remnants of the United States as well as the Hunger Games, an event that pits young adults against one another in a fight to the death. The Hunger Games streets on August 18th.

Titanic 3D Collector's Edition Amazon Pre-order

It appears the US will also get a Paramount Collector's Edition of James Cameron's Titanic 3D (1997), as it has shown up as available for pre-order from Amazon simultaneously with the standard Blu-ray editions of the movie. The Collector's Edition contains the 3D/2D 4-Disc Blu-ray edition of the movie with 6 hours of bonus features, plus the extras exclusive to the Limited Set.

Director Sam Raimi (Spider-Man 2, Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn) brings his bold imagination to this fantasy adventure, which re-imagines the backstory behind the legendary motion picture The Wizard of Oz. The week ending on July 8th lacked major new releases, a situation that allowed for older titles to maintain their footing in the Blu-ray and overall media sales rankings. In Blu-rays only, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows reclaimed the number one spot. The film occupied this position during its first two weeks on home media but then found itself unseated by Wrath of the Titans and 21 Jump Street.

Warner Bros. has just released the international trailer for the upcoming Gangster Squad. Inspired by Paul Lieberman's nonfiction novel, this thriller focuses on the bloody conflict that erupted on the streets of 1950's Los Angeles between mobster Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn, Mystic River) and an elite team of police detectives. Gangster Squad's U.S. release date is September 7th.

Next month, Paramount Home Media Distribution will bring The Dictator to Blu-ray. Borat creators Sasha Baron Cohen (Bruno) and Larry Charles (Religulous) have reunited for this satirical comedy, which focuses on Admiral General Aladeen (Cohen), the cheerfully brutal ruler of the fictional Republic of Wadiya.
