One Night Only Collector's Edition 4K Blu-ray

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Will Gluck's romantic dramedy One Night Only (2026), starring Monica Barbaro, Callum Turner, Bobby Cannavale, Molly Ringwald, and LeVar Burton. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Two More Classic Films Coming to the StudioCanal Collection

StudioCanal have revealed that they will release on Blu-ray two highly anticipated classic films: Jean Renoir's legendary La grande illusion a.k.a Grand Illusion (1937) and Ernst Lubitsch's To Be or Not to Be(1942). Exact technical specs, region coding status and release dates are unknown at the moment, but the French distributors have announced on their site that the two films are indeed coming to Blu-ray.

Amazon Spain Launched

Amazon has launched its highly anticipated Spanish storefront. Currently, the site offers only physical goods, including DVDs and Blu-ray discs, but its inventory is expected to grow in the weeks to come and match the assortment of goods its sister sites offer. The site also offers two- to three-day shipping through Amazon Prime for €14.95 ($20.52/£13) per year.

Atlas Shrugged: Part I Blu-ray

Fox has announced the 2011 drama Atlas Shrugged: Part I for Blu-ray. The film adapts the first part of Ayn Rand's sprawling 1957 dystopian fiction novel Atlas Shrugged, which tells the story of a futuristic United States that has been pushed to the brink of economic collapse. The indie film will street on November 15th.

Signaling the first high profile issue from the slate of Summer 2011 blockbusters, the mutants unleashed their fury and infused energy into the home video market. X-Men: First Class is distributed by 20th Century Fox and finished its worldwide run with a total of $353 million.

This November, Synapse Films will bring Frankenhooker to Blu-ray. The cult horror favorite from director Frank Henenlotter (Basket Case) offers a skewed look at the Frankenstein legend with its take on a medical school dropout who tries to reassemble his dead fiancée from prostitutes walking the streets of New York City. Frankenhooker is expected to street on November 8th.

Controversy Erupts Over Missing Halloween II Producer Credit

This Tuesday, the Halloween II: 30th Anniversary Edition made its Blu-ray debut. Already the release has stirred up controversy as it appears that executive producer Moustapha Akkad has had his name removed from the credits of the film. Ryan Turek, managing editor at ShockTillYouDrop.com recently contacted Moustapha's son Malek regarding the change, and the younger Akkad had some harsh words.

Criterion Teases The Lady Vanishes Blu-ray

While the Criterion Collection will release their December 2011 Blu-ray slate tomorrow, the distributor has posted a still frame on their Facebook page hinting at a potential title. Criterion will not confirm what film the shot comes from until tomorrow, but most seem to think that the tease indicates a The Lady Vanishes Blu-ray, which last received Criterion treatment back in 2007 and in 1998.

Supernatural: Seasons 1-6 Giftset Blu-ray

Warner Home Entertainment announced plans to release the Supernatural: Seasons 1-6 Giftset on Blu-ray next week to coincide with the September 23rd Season 7 premiere. This package bundles together the available Blu-ray seasons of Supernatural, which focuses on Dean and Sam Winchester (Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, respectively) two brothers investigating supernatural phenomena throughout the United States. The Supernatural: Seasons 1-6 Giftset is expected to street on September 20th.

This November, BBC Home Entertainment will bring the Life / Planet Earth: Special Edition Collection to Blu-ray. A repackaging of both the David Attenborough version of Life and the upcoming Planet Earth: Special Edition, the boxset offers over seventeen hours of the finest nature footage ever filmed in high definition. Warner Home Entertainment will expand its Blu-ray release schedule for Executive Decision this November. Director Stuart Baird's 1996 thriller stars Kurt Russell (Big Trouble in Little China) as a Washington intelligence expert who assists an anti-terrorism unit trying to defuse a hostage situation on a commercial 747. Previously available as a Best Buy exclusive, the Blu-ray streets everywhere on November 8th.

Beautiful Lies (2010), starring Audrey Tautou (Amelie), Nathalie Baye (Tell No One), and Sami Bouajila (Outside the Law). Street date is November 7th.

The UK branch of Universal Studios Home Entertainment will release on Blu-ray Matthew Parkhill's horror thriller The Caller (2011), starring Stephen Moyer, Luis Guzmán, and Rachelle Lefevre. Earlier this year, the film was screened at the Edinburgh Film Festival. Street date is October 24th.

Showtime's popular revamp of the long-running British television program, the series stars William H. Regardless of which side you take on the subject, nothing is going to stop George Lucas from continuing to change his Star Wars films. Today's Blu-ray releases feature the latest versions with more "enhancements" to both the original trilogy (Episodes IV-VI) and the prequel trilogy (Episodes I-III) alike. Fortunately, fans get the choice of picking up the entire saga in one Blu-ray release, or each trilogy individually.

Top Gun to Receive 3D Theatrical Re-Release

THR is reporting that Paramount's Top Gun is currently undergoing 3D conversion for an early 2012 re-release. A four-minute preview of converted footage from the 1986 Tony Scott film was screened today at the International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam. San Diego-based Legend3D is overseeing the conversion process for Paramount.

The Focus Features/Studio Canal production features an ensemble cast of Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, John Hurt, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film will see a September 16th release in the U.K. and a December 9th release in the U.S.
