Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

As part of its 100th Anniversary this year, Universal Studios Home Entertainment will offer re-issues of catalog titles, and the Deer Hunter Blu-ray will arrive in the March wave. Director Michael Cimino's epic drama focuses on a group of best friends whose lives are forever changed by the uncertainty and violence of the Vietnam War. The Deer Hunter is expected to street on March 6th.

As part of its 100th Anniversary this year, Universal Studios Home Entertainment will offer re-issues of catalog titles, and the Nutty Professor Blu-ray will arrive in the March wave. This 1996 remake of the Jerry Lewis comedy stars Eddie Murphy (Dreamgirls) as Sherman Klump, a brilliant-but-obese scientist who invents a serum that can turn him into the ultra-crude, ultra-svelte Buddy Love (Murphy, again). The Nutty Professor streets on March 6th.

Director Henry Koster's adaptation of the Mary Chase play stars James Stewart (It's a Wonderful Life) as a charming man who claims to pal around with a six-foot rabbit. Studio Ghibli Retrospective at New York City's IFC Center (Updated)

From December 16th through January 12th, GKIDS and the IFC Center in New York City will host a comprehensive Studio Ghibli retrospective. The programming showcases fifteen animated films - including such Hayao Miyazaki classics as Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke, and Spirited Away - in brand new 35mm prints with both Japanese w/English subtitles and English dubbed audio tracks.

Jeremiah Johnson Blu-ray

This summer, Warner Home Entertainment will bring Jeremiah Johnson to Blu-ray. Filmmaker Sydney Pollack's classic adventure tale stars Robert Redford (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid) as the title character, a veteran of the Mexican War who leaves the military in order to become a mountain man. Jeremiah Johnson is expected to street on May 1st.

Inception Media Group will bring Lady for a Day to Blu-ray this March. Directed by Frank Capra (It's a Wonderful Life), this 1933 comedy stars May Robson (A Star is Born) as a Spanish indigent woman living in New York City who pretends to be rich in order to help her daughter marry a wealthy aristocrat. Lady for a Day streets on March 20th.

A Trip to the Moon Blu-ray

French distributors Lobster Films have revealed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of Georges Méliès' Le voyage dans la Lune a.k.a Voyage to the Moon (1902). This legendary short film, which was meticulously restored after a hand-colored print was discovered in 2002, is considered the screen's first science fiction story.

In an early announcement to retailers, The Weinstein Company has revealed that it plans to release on Blu-ray director Simon Curtis' My Week With Marilyn (2011), starring Michelle Williams, Eddie Redmayne, Julia Ormond, Judi Dench, and Kenneth Branagh. Based on true events, the film chronicles Marilyn Monroe's 1956 trip to London to shoot The Prince and the Showgirl with Sir Laurence Olivier. Street date is March 6th.

First to Blu-ray in early 2012 will be Jean Rollin's erotic vampire films The Nude Vampire, Shiver of the Vampires, The Iron Rose, Lips of Blood, and Fascination. Updated with these five films' technical and supplementary specifications.

The last film in the popular Harry Potter series was a huge success for Warner Bros. as it finished its theatrical run with an amazing worldwide total of $1.3 billion.
