Kino Lorber have revealed that they are preparing for Blu-ray release three films by Italian director Lina Wertmuller:
The Seduction of Mimi (1972),
Love and Anarchy (1973), and
All Screwed Up (1974). All three releases will be available for purchase on June 12th.
The Seduction of Mimi
This sexy politiacl farce helped bring international fame to Italian director Lina Wertmuller. Giancarlo Giannini is Mimi, a Sicilian laborer, whose decision not to vote for the Mafia's candidate in a local election results in him losing his job, his wife and his home. The predicaments that arise throw Mimi's life into a pile of comical complexities as all his energies surge into defending his honor - an obsession that has horrendous consequences.
Love and Anarchy
Giancarlo Giannini plays Tunin, a Venetian peasant man. Tunin commits to assassinating Mussolini after witnessing the murder of a close anarchist friend. His plans are subverted when he takes residence in a whore-house and falls in love with a prostitute. The tension arising from their love impedes his mission and leads him to his own violent destruction.
All Screwed Up
The film follows a group of Southerners who move to Milan's suburbs in 1974, but struggle to adapt their cultural identities.
