Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

For the first time, all of Humphrey Jennings' remarkable films are being newly remastered to High Definition and released by the BFI on three volumes in Dual Format Editions. Volume Two of The Complete Humphrey Jennings, which is out on 23 April, gathers together five films from 1941 to 1943, including the iconic Words for Battle and Listen to Britain.

Adapted from the William Shakespeare play by screenwriter John Logan (Hugo), this gritty drama stars Ralph Fiennes (In Bruges) as the title character, a brutal general whose banishment from Rome leads to his plotting bloody revenge. Coriolanus streets on May 29th.

Blade & Blade: Trinity Announced for Blu-ray

New Line and Warner Home Entertainment have announced the Blu-ray releases of Blade and Blade: Trinity. Wesley Snipes (Demolition Man) stars in the action series as the title character, a half-human/half-vampire avenger who spends his nights trying to eradicate vampires from the planet. Both Blu-rays are expected to street on June 19th.

One of the greatest masterpieces of silent cinema, Abel Gance's epic Napoleon (1927) has been reconstructed and restored. On March 24, 25, and 31 and April 1, the film will be screened at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland, California.

British distributors Entertainment One will release on Blu-ray Michael Dowse's comedy Goon (2011), starring Seann William Scott, Jay Baruchel and Alison Pill. The exact technical specs and supplemental features to be included on this release are unknown at the moment, but the preliminary release date set by the distributors is June 4th.

Independent British distributors Revolver Entertainment will release on Blu-ray Australian director Stephen Amis' fantasy action film The 25th Reich (2012), starring Jim Knobeloch, Dan Balcaban and Jak Wyld. The film scoops a handful of American soldiers and sends them 50,000 years into the future, on a mission to save the world from Hitler's tyranny. Street date is April 16th.

Independent distributors Monterey Video have revealed that they are preparing a Blu-ray release of acclaimed Canadian director Guy Maddin's Keyhole (2011), starring Isabella Rossellini, Jason Patric, and Udo Kier. Last year, the film was screened at the Toronto and Berlin International Film Festivals. Street date is June 19th.

The movie illustrates the art of defying audience expectations; the studio might have marketed Young Adult as an off-kilter romantic comedy, but director Jason Reitman's film contains few genuine rom-com flourishes, eschewing the quirks that made writer Diablo Cody's Juno script so charming.
