Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

Asian Hits Heading to Blu-ray

Last month, independent distributors Shout Factory announced that they are bringing to the U.S. two recent Korean hits. The first, Kim Ji-hun's Sector 7 (2011), has received a preliminary release date: June 26th. Two weeks earlier, on June 12th Shout Factory will also release on Blu-ray Hong Kong director Cheang Pou-Soi's Accident (2009).

In early announcement to retailers, Studio Canal have revealed that they are planning to release on Blu-ray director Marcel Carné's Le quai des brumes a.k.a Port of Shadows (1938), starring Jean Gabin, Michel Simon and Michèle Morgan. Exact technical specs, region coding status and supplemental features to be included on this release are unknown at the moment.

Kino Lorber have revealed that they are preparing for Blu-ray release three films by Italian director Lina Wertmuller: The Seduction of Mimi (1972), Love and Anarchy (1973), and All Screwed Up (1974). All three releases will be available for purchase on June 12th.

Life is Beautiful Blu-ray

Studio Canal will release a Collector's Edition Blu-ray of Roberto Benigni's La vita è bella a.k.a Life is Beautiful (1997). In 1998, the film won the Grand Prize of the Jury at the Cannes Film Festival. A year later, it won three Oscar Awards, including Best Foreign Language Film and Best Actor in a Leading Role (Roberto Benigni). Street date is April 2.

The French Connection Gets a New Blu-ray Release, New Master

Blu-ray.com has been informed that 20th Century Fox Entertainment has issued a new Blu-ray release of director William Friedkin's 5 Oscars winner film The French Connection (1971), which is currently sold exclusively at Best Buy. Blu-ray.com also been able to confirm that the new Blu-ray release features a brand new high-definition transfer struck from a new master supervised by Director William Friedkin and cinematographer Owen Roizman.

Blu-ray Sales, Feb. 27-Mar. 04: Hugo and Puss Jockey for the Top

For the week ending 03/04/2012, Dreamworks' animated comedy Puss in Boots still carried enough momentum to ensure the top spot on the overall package media sales chart, narrowly edging out Hugo's home media premiere. However, while Hugo sold 78% as many total package units as Puss in Boots, Martin Scorsese's Academy Award-winning fable emerged the victor in Blu-ray-only numbers.
