Nicolas Winding Refn will bring Barbarella to the small screen. The Danish director has teamed up with Martha De Laurentiis to produce the series for Gaumont International Television, the Los Angeles based arm of the French studio.
De Laurentiis and Gaumont are also working together on the NBC series Hannibal.
Refn directed the recent hit Drive, as well as the atmospheric adventure film Valhalla Rising and the violent thriller Bronson.
Roger Vadim's Barbarella, starring Jane Fonda and David Hemmings, will be out on Blu-ray on July 3rd, courtesy of Paramount Pictures. Blu-ray.com has already reviewed this upcoming release here.
