Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

More Catalog Titles From Olive Films in September

Independent distributors Olive Films have revealed that they are preparing six catalog titles for Blu-ray release in September: Robert Siodmak's The Dark Mirror (1946), Fritz Lang's Secret Beyond the Door... (1947), Edmond O'Brien's Man-Trap (1961), Elaine May's A New Leaf (1971), Sidney Lumet's Child's Play (1972) and Frank Perry's Man on a Swing (1974). The preliminary release date for all six films is September 4th.

The Weinstein Company and Columbia Pictures have just revealed the first theatrical trailer for Django Unchained. The newest feature from Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction) focuses on the relationship between bounty hunter King Schultz (Christoph Waltz, Inglourious Basterds) and African-American slave Django (Jamie Foxx, Collateral). Independent British distributors Artificial Eye have set a preliminary release date for Hungarian directors Bela Tarr's (Satantango, Werckmeister Harmonies) latest film A Torinói ló a.k.a The Turin Horse (2011). Last year, the film won FIPRESCI Prize and Silver Bear Award at the Berlin International Film Festival. Street date is September 3.
