Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Director John Hughes' comedy centers around young Samantha Baker (Molly Ringwald, The Breakfast Club), a teenager who endures one humiliation after another on her sixteenth birthday. Sixteen Candles streets on September 4th.

This horror spoof stars comedy duo Bud Abbott and Lou Costello (Buck Privates) as railroad baggage clerks who loose Dracula (Bela Lugosi, Dracula) and Frankenstein's monster (Glenn Strange, House of Dracula). Though the film has not yet made its U.S. theatrical premiere, Amazon is listing both the 3D and 2D versions of Prometheus for Blu-ray pre-order. Following the arrival of its new chief, Alan Horn, Disney has announced new release dates for a number of upcoming high-profile films, including Steven Spielberg's Robopocalypse and Gore Verbinski's The Lone Ranger. Based on the novel by bestselling author Daniel H. Wilson, Spielberg's futuristic thriller was initially set to be released in 2013, but Disney has now moved it to 2014. The new release date is April 25, 2014.
