Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

In October, Warner Home Entertainment will bring Little Shop of Horrors to Blu-ray. This 1986 adaptation of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken's popular off-Broadway musical - which, in turn, took its inspiration from Roger Corman's 1960 cult classic - stars Rick Moranis (Ghostbusters) as a meek florist who forms an unusual bond with a man-eating plant called Audrey II. Little Shop of Horrors is expected to street on October 9th.

The UK branch of Universal Studios has revealed that it is planning to release on Blu-ray director Kevin Macdonald's (Touching the Void, The Last King of Scotland) Marley (2012). Executive produced by Ziggy Marley and Chris Blackwell, the film had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year. The preliminary release date set by the studio is August 20th.

Anchor Bay has renewed its distribution deal with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The new extension gives the company the distribution rights to the reality show The Ultimate Fighter. Anchor Bay has distributed UFC releases since 2008.

British distributors Artificial Eye have revealed that they are planning to release on Blu-ray Australian director Daniel Nettheim's The Hunter (2011), starring Willem Dafoe, Sam Neill and Morgana Davies. Database Loss (Updated 22th of June)

Update: most of the data is being recovered.
We are extremely sad to let you know that we've experienced 7 weeks of database loss. 7 weeks ago we moved to a new much improved server, but unfortunately earlier today the hard drives of the database crashed. On the old server we did daily backups, but since we changed server and setup, the old server backup solution didn't work anymore. -

For the week ending on June 3rd, HBO Home Entertainment scored the top seller on both the Blu-ray and overall home media charts with its release of True Blood: The Complete Fourth Season. Whether or not True Blood will maintain a strong standing in the weeks to come is yet to be seen, though these initial figures certainly do speak to the public's enduring support of the show.
