Luck: The Complete First Season Blu-ray

HBO Home Entertainment will bring Luck: The Complete First Season to Blu-ray in November. Created by David Milch (Deadwood) and Michael Mann (Heat), this short-lived television drama focuses on a California horse-racing track as well as the ambitions and resentments of the unique characters frequenting it.

Chief among those people are a crippled gambler (Kevin Dunn, Unstoppable) and his three best friends, a grizzled trainer (Nick Nolte, Warrior) looking to make a fresh start with a talented young thoroughbred, a female jockey (Kerry Condon, Rome) with dreams of professional stardom, and an aging ex-convict (Dustin Hoffman, Rain Man) whose complex revenge machinations have a profound impact on both the entire track and his own aspirations of personal redemption.

In addition, Luck also has a sterling ensemble cast that includes Dennis Farina (Get Shorty), John Ortiz (Miami Vice), Richard Kind (A Serious Man), Jason Gedrick (Backdraft), Ritchie Coster (The Dark Knight), Ian Hart (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone), Jill Hennessy (Roadie), Tom Payne (Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day), Gary Stevens (Seabiscuit), Dennis Dun (Big Trouble in Little China), Ted Levine (The Silence of the Lambs), Joan Allen (Pleasantville), and Michael Gambon (Layer Cake).

HBO's four-disc Blu-ray set presents all nine episodes of Luck's first season in their 1.78:1 broadcast aspect ratio with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio tracks. The package's supplementary details are still unknown.
