Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

French label Pathe has announced that it is planning to restore over 100 films from its massive catalog. The five-year project, which will be assisted by the Eclair Group and L'Immagine Ritrovata, is expected to cover a number of classic feature films from Pathe's catalog.

In a recent press kit released to media outlets, Warner Bros. has outlined its plans to bring four Anniversary Editions to Blu-ray in the coming fiscal year. Classics getting an Anniversary Edition treatment include: Enter the Dragon, The Exorcist, A Christmas Story and The Right Stuff. Each film will celebrate its next milestone anniversary next year.

The Hobbit: Extended Edition (Update: Warner Retraction)

Warner Bros. issued a retraction this evening based on an error in the studio's 2013 calendar: "In the recently distributed calendar included in the Warner Bros. 90th Anniversary press kit, there was an erroneous mention of an Extended Edition release for The Hobbit film. This product has not been confirmed yet and we apologize for any confusion."

Warner to Distribute Paramount Titles

Paramount Home Entertainment and Warner Home Entertainment Group announced today that they have signed a new distribution agreement. As a result, starting January 1, 2013 Warner will have access to more than 600 Paramount catalog titles which can be distributed in the U.S. and Canada.
