Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

This is the first ever live video release by Patti Smith and includes classic tracks such as "Because The Night," "Dancing Barefoot," "People Have The Power," "Redondo Beach," "25th Floor," and many more. Jack Reacher (Trailer 2)

Paramount's December action film Jack Reacher just debuted its latest trailer. The film is based off of the crime drama novels by British auther Lee Child, starting with "Killing Floor." Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film is lead by action alumnus Tom Cruise, co-starring Rosamund Pike (Pride & Prejudice), Richard Jenkins (Step Brothers), and Robert Duvall (The Godfather). Jack Reacher shoots into theaters December 21st.

InuYasha: The Final Act Set 2 Blu-ray

Warner Bros. has officially announced the upcoming release of InuYasha: The Final Act Set 2 on Blu-ray. Directed by Yasunao Aoki the television anime series stars the voice talents of Richard Ian Cox (InuYasha), Houko Kuwashima (Sango), and Jillian Michaels (Shippo). As of yet, no special features or technical specs have been detailed. Grab InuYasha: The Final Act Set 2 in stores February 2nd.

Transformers Prime: Season Two Blu-ray

Shout Factory, in collaboration with Hasbro Studios, will release Transformers Prime: Season Two on Blu-ray this November. Containing all 26 episodes, the 4-disc blu-ray animated series stars Optimus Prime himself, Peter Cullen, returning to his lead role along with Frank Welker (Megatron), Jeffrey Combs (Ratchet), and Kevin Michael Richardson (Bulkhead). Transformers Prime: Season Two blasts onto Blu-ray November 27th.

For the week ending on October 14th, Twentieth Century Fox's Prometheus dominated both the overall package media and Blu-ray-only sales charts. After months of pre-release hype, the Alien prequel debuted last June to divisive critical reactions and mostly enthusiastic box-office totals; to date, the film has amassed a worldwide gross of over $402 million on top of its estimated $130 million production budget.

Paramount Pictures has acquired the North American distribution rights for director Martin Scorsese's highly anticipated new film The Wolf of Wall Street (2013). The film reunites the legendary director with Leonardo DiCaprio. It is expected to open up in theaters across the United States in the fourth quarter of 2013.

Anchor Bay Entertainment, in an early announcement to retailers, dated the Blu-ray release of writer/director Jamie Linden's 2012 film 10 Years. Starring Channing Tatum (21 Jump Street) and Rosario Dawson (Sin City), the romantic comedy co-stars Justin Long (Live Free or Die Hard), Max Minghella (The Ides of March), Oscar Isaac (Drive), Chris Pratt (Moneyball), and Ari Graynor (The Sitter). 10 Years will be available in stores December 18th.

Millennium Entertainment is bringing director Lee Daniels' 2012 thriller The Paperboy to Blu-ray early next year. The film stars Zac Efron (17 Again), and Matthew McConaughey (Sahara), along with co-stars, David Oyelowo (The Last King of Scotland), Macy Gray (Déjà Vu), John Cusack (2012), and Nicole Kidman (Moulin Rouge!). Special features and technical specs have yet to be detailed. The Paperboy hits shelves January 15th.

Anchor Bay Entertainment and RADiUS-TWC announced today the Blu-ray Combo Pack release of the political satire comedy, Butter, from director Jim Field Smith. Written by newcomer Jason Micallef, Butter stars Golden Globe Award winner Jennifer Garner (The Odd Life of Timothy Green), Emmy Award winner Ty Burrell (Modern Family), and Olivia Wilde (TRON: Legacy). Butter slips onto Blu-ray December 4th.

MGM and Screen Gems have released a teaser for Kimberly Peirce's Carrie (2013), a remake of Brian De Palma's classic film, which earned Oscar nominations for stars Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie. The remake stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore and Judy Greer, and will open in theaters across the U.S. on March 15th, 2013.

Kino Lorber are bringing to U.S. theaters Korean director Hong Sang-soo's In Another Country (2012), starring Isabelle Hupert, Yu Jun-sang, and Kwon Hae-hyo. Earlier this year, the film was screened at the Cannes Film Festival, where it was nominated for the prestigious Palme d'Or Award.
