Johnny Handsome 4K Blu-ray

StudioCanal is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Walter Hill's Johnny Handsome (1989), starring Mickey Rourke, Lance Henriksen, Ellen Barkin, Elizabeth McGovern, Forest Whitaker, and Morgan Freeman. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on August 17.

For the week of June 15th, Paramount Home Media Distribution will release Scream 7 on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Other new releases include The Super Mario Galaxy Movie from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Complete First Season (2026) from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Hamilton (2020) from Walt Disney Home Entertainment, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come from Searchlight Pictures and Dark Winds: Season 4 (2025) from AMC Studios. Catalog titles include 4K UHD upgrades for Them! (1954) and Day of the Dead from Shout Factory,The Arrival (1996) from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, Eraser from Warner and Audition (1999) from Arrow Video.

Paramount Home Media Distribution has dated its upcoming 4K Blu-ray release of Robert Altman's Popeye (1980), starring Robin Williams, Shelley Duvall, Ray Walston, Paul Dooley, and Paul L. Smith. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on August 18.

Blu-ray Sales: May 24-30: Avatar: Fire and Ash Still Rising to the Top in Second Week

For the week that ended on May 30th, Disney and 20th Century Studios' Avatar: Fire and Ash remained atop the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media, Blu-ray 3D and 4K UHD charts in its second week. Second place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Alliance Entertainment's Fallout: Season Two (2025-2026) while third place went to Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, which was released on 4K UHD by Arrow Video this week.

Warner Archive Announces July Releases

Warner Archive has revealed its July batch of Blu-ray releases. They are: Macao (1952), Crime Wave (1953), Colt .45 (1950), The Keyhole (1933), The Seventh Cross (1944), Lilly Turner (1933), The Sisters (1938), Presenting Lily Mars (1943), Random Harvest (1942), Captain Horatio Hornblower (1951), Bonnie Scotland (1935), and A Midsummer Night's Dream (1935). All titles are scheduled to arrive on the market on July 28.

For the week that ended on August 28th, Universal Studios Home Entertainment's The Huntsman: Winter's War premiered at the top of the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media rankings. Simultaneously a prequel, side-quel, and sequel to 2012's Snow White and the Huntsman, Winter's War struggled to make an impact with critics and audiences when it debuted last April, grossing just over $48 million domestically.

Temple of the Dog — the Seattle supergroup featuring Soundgarden's Chris Cornell, Pearl Jam's Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, and Mike McCready, and drummer Matt Cameron (who plays drums with both Soundgarden and Pearl Jam) — has reunited and will tour for the first time ever since forming in 1990.
