British label Nucleus Films has confirmed that its upcoming Blu-ray release of Giulio Questi's cult film Death Laid an Egg a.k.a. La morte ha fatto l'uovo (1968) will feature newly discovered, never before seen footage.

The new report: "We've just received confirmation that the 35mm archive print we located contains approximately 15 minutes of previously unseen footage! We're sure you'll all be as happy about this as we are.

However, the print isn't in great shape, so we will need to have it cleaned and scanned, and we will insert the additional scenes from the print into our newly created master, which is currently being scanned from the negatives. This will ensure you get to see the closest thing to Questi's original director's cut."

The label ran a successful campaign to secure funding for 2K restorations of Death Laid an Egg and Mel Welles' Lady Frankenstein a.k.a. La figlia di Frankenstein (1971). The two Blu-ray releases are expected to arrive on the market in early 2017.
