Warner Archive, in association with Hammer Films, is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Terence Fisher's Dracula (1958), starring Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Michael Gough, Melissa Stribling, and Carol Marsh. The releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 27.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Will Gluck's romantic dramedy One Night Only (2026), starring Monica Barbaro, Callum Turner, Bobby Cannavale, Molly Ringwald, and LeVar Burton. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

In an early announcement to retailers, it has been revealed that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release Steven Soderbergh's first feature film, 'Sex, Lies and Videotape', on Blu-ray on August 25. No technical specifications are available, but you can expect a 1.85:1 AVC video encode accompanied by 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio. Update: We have been informed that the August 25 date shown by retailers is incorrect, and a firm date will be given with the official announcement.

War drama 'Defiance' was the top-selling title on Blu-ray in the US for the week ended June 7, closely followed by 'Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children', according to Nielsen VideoScan First Alert. The top overall disc seller, romantic comedy 'He's Just Not That Into You', only managed fifth place for BD.

Starz/Anchor Bay has officially announced and revealed details for 'Crash: The Complete First Season', which is scheduled to release on Blu-ray on August 25. This 13-episode TV series, loosely based on the Academy award-winning movie 'Crash', will hit shelves in a 4-disc edition, with 1080p 1.78:1 video and 5.1 surround audio. UPDATE: release date has been pushed to September 15.

E1 Entertainment has announced that it will release 'Camille' on Blu-ray on September 15, day-and-date with the DVD. No release details have been disclosed. This 2007 comedy stars James Franco, Sienna Miller, David Carradine and Scott Glenn. It played at several film festivals but never found a theatrical release.

The disc features the million-dollar-winner of "America's Got Talent" and his cast of puppets entertaining Vegas showgoers with impersonations of famous singers. Eagle Rock Entertainment is releasing 'Quincy Jones: 75th Birthday Celebration Live at Montreux 2008' on Blu-ray on June 21st. This concert, over two and a half hours long, took place on July 14th 2008 at the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival. No audio or video specifications have been detailed. Sharp has announced a new Blu-ray player for the United Kingdom, model number BD-HP22H. The main improvement from its predecessor, the HP21H, is the addition of BD-Live. It will offer 1080p video (including 24p), and x.v.Color. It is very eco-friendly, drawing 20W in operation, and a mere 0.7W in standby. It will be available this month for £199.99.

We reported early this week that the recently-approved final AACS license included Managed Copy, enabling consumers to make one copy of any Blu-ray Disc they buy. Now additional details on the acquisition procedure and on the actual rollout of this feature have arisen. Soon, the vast majority of BDs will support Managed Copy, but studios will be able to charge for it, and new players will be needed (update: except possibly the PS3).

Universal Music Enterprises has released the details for 'The Rolling Stones: The Biggest Bang', which is due to hit store shelves on Blu-ray on June 16. Video will be 1080i 1.78:1, accompanied by audio tracks in stereo PCM and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, and English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese subtitles.

A2 Avalon will author eight Blu-ray titles at their facility in Beirut, becoming the first company to produce Blu-ray titles in the Middle East. The first title from the company, which is the only production house in the region authorized to author Blu-ray titles, will be 'Valkyrie'. All eight titles will contain the option for Arabian subtitles.

'Neil Young Archives, Volume 1: 1963-1972', released on June 2, has already sold out of its initial shipment, to the surprise of Warner Music, according to Young's producer Larry Johnson. As the reasons for that success, Johnson cited the ongoing addition of content via BD-Live and the BD listener parties held at retailers.

Sony Australia has just announced the opening of its new Blu-ray Disc replication plant in Huntingwood, near Sydney. The plant is the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere. Its launch is due to the continued demand the technology has attracted since it came to market in Australia in February 2007.

Harman Kardon has announced that they will release their first Blu-ray Disc player, the Harman Kardon BDP-1. The player will be BD-Live and BonusView compliant, and feature support for all Blu-ray approved audio codecs, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Additonally, the player will support CD, DVD, and MP3 playback.
