Warner Archive, in association with Hammer Films, is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Terence Fisher's Dracula (1958), starring Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Michael Gough, Melissa Stribling, and Carol Marsh. The releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 27.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Will Gluck's romantic dramedy One Night Only (2026), starring Monica Barbaro, Callum Turner, Bobby Cannavale, Molly Ringwald, and LeVar Burton. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring the Academy Award- winning films 'The Music Man' and 'Mystic River' to Blu-ray on February 2nd. Video for both films will be presented in 2.4:1 1080p VC-1. Audio specs have yet to be announced for 'The Music Man', but 'Mystic River' will feature a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack.

Barking Dogs Productions has announced that they will bring 'Jazzmix in NYC: Vol 1' to Blu-ray on February 2nd (November 17th in France). Last November, a French film crew went to the Big Apple and filmed some of the best Jazz musicians the city has to offer in high definition. The two-disc set will present eight hours of material in 1.78:1 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack.

For Disney, the animated classic 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' represents many firsts. Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring the Robert Rodriquez film 'Shorts' to Blu-ray on November 24th, day-and-date with the DVD release. This BD-25 release will present the film in 1.85:1 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack and include both a DVD and digital copy of the film.

TDK is set to demonstrate a 10-layer 320GB Blu-ray Disc at CEATEC in Japan this week. The company was able to expand the capacity of each layer from the standard 25GB to 32GB, and stack them them up to 10 layers thick while using existing Blu-ray technology. TDK was able to do this by altering the material of each layer to operate at higher efficiency.

Ritek is planning to issue up to 250 new shares in order to raise additional capital for the expansion of their Blu-ray production capability. Currently, the company can produce one million Blu-ray discs per month, and hopes to expand that capability to two million Blu-ray discs per month by the end of the year.

According to a new study released by Futuresource, adoption of Blu-ray will surpass DVD when comparing year five for each home video medium. In 2002, DVD adoption (including the PS2) was 32.6%, and Futuresource is predicting that in 2010, Blu-ray adoption (including PS3) will be 34.1%. They further predict that in year eight (2013), adoption of Blu-ray will rise to 67.8%.

It again dominated the competition, selling four times as units as the next best seller. According to the Library of Congress, the 1939 film adaptation of the American fairy tale 'The Wizard of Oz' is the most watched film of all time. Image Entertainment has announced that it will release the drama 'The Other Man' on Blu-ray on December 15, day-and-date with the DVD. This movie stars Liam Neeson, as a husband who suspects his wife (Laura Linney) of adultery and tracks down "the other man", a shoe designer (Antonio Banderas). It got a limited release at a dozen theaters in September.

Apparently, Quentin Tarantino's latest movie will make it on Blu-ray before Christmas after all. According to site Den of Geek, 'Inglourious Basterds' will be released in the US on December 15 (December 14 in the UK). No disc details are available, and this release date is unofficial until an announcement is made.
