BBC, in conjunction with Warner Home Video, has revealed the full release details for '
Doctor Who: The Complete Specials', as well as for individual releases '
The Waters of Mars' and '
The End of Time, Part One and Two'. Additionally, specialised site TV Shows on DVD has received confirmation that
The Next Doctor, one of the specials included in the collection, will be "upconverted for the BD, as it was shot in standard definition."
The other four specials in the finale to the era of David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor were shot natively in HD. Possibly because of that technical limitation,
The Next Doctor won't be released separately on Blu-ray, only as part of the five-disc collection.
