During an interview for the promotion of his upcoming movie 'The Lovely
Bones', Peter Jackson was asked about the status of the Blu-ray release of
'
The Lord of the Rings: The Motion
Picture Trilogy'. Jackson replied: "I've seen the Blu-ray as they sent it
to me to approve and I looked at the film and it looks fantastic on Blu-ray
but I don't know the date."
Jackson said he believed that the Blu-ray is "scheduled for some time next
year", but he admitted that he was not "the best person to ask" about the
BD as he isn't in charge of it, but rather that Warner Home Video is. He
also thought that the theatrical releases will be released first, but he
wasn't "100% certain."
