Warner Archive, in association with Hammer Films, is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Terence Fisher's Dracula (1958), starring Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Michael Gough, Melissa Stribling, and Carol Marsh. The releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 27.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Will Gluck's romantic dramedy One Night Only (2026), starring Monica Barbaro, Callum Turner, Bobby Cannavale, Molly Ringwald, and LeVar Burton. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

The Social Network was the top-selling title on Blu-ray during the week ended January 16, according to data from Nielsen VideoScan First Alert. David Fincher's story of the birth of Facebook got 45% of its total disc sales from the high-definition release (a record for a BD with no DVD or digital copy). The second place was for Inception. Warner Home Video has informed that the Blu-ray release of the Spike Lee movie Malcolm X (which had been announced for January 25), has been cancelled due to a rights issue regarding the music cues used in the movie. WHV has noted that all parties involved are working to resolve this issue.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced What Dreams May Come for Blu-ray release on May 3. This 1998 afterlife-themed movie, starring Robin Williams, won a visual effects Academy Award because of its stunning imagery of Heaven and Hell. It had been released on the defunct HD DVD format in 2007.

Eagle Rock Entertainment has announced the simultaneous release of Jeff Beck Rock & Roll Party: Honoring Les Paul on Blu-ray on February 22. Filmed in high definition at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York City this past spring, this musical celebration of the great Les Paul features selections of his songs and other great rock 'n' roll tracks.

Spanish site Zona DVD is reporting that Warner Home Video is preparing the Blu-ray release of Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition, including all the existing Superman movies (Superman: The Movie, Superman II, Superman III, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace and Superman Returns); note that III and IV are new to high-def. The pack will reportedly consist of seven discs, with similar content to that of the standard-definition set released in 2006.

TV Shows on DVD has the scoop that the first season of the Canadian police drama Rookie Blue will get a Blu-ray release on May 31, from eOne Entertainment – although the date may still change depending on the broadcast debut of the second season. Summit Entertainment has announced Fair Game for Blu-ray release on March 29. This political thriller, directed by Doug Liman and starring Naomi Watts and Sean Penn, is based on the true story of Valerie Plame Wilson, a former CIA officer whose identity was leaked to the press after her husband, a diplomat, criticized the Administration over the Iraq War. Unlike other Summit new releases, this is apparently a single-sided BD, not a flipper combo.

This musical, starring Chistina Aguilera and Cher, was nominated for three Golden Globe awards and won one (Best Original Song). Timothy Olyphant made a name for himself starring as Seth Bullock in the now legendary HBO series Deadwood. After that series abruptly ended in 2006, Olyphant floated around Hollywood until strapping on his cowboy boots once again for the FX series Justified. Today, Sony is releasing the first season of the highly acclaimed show on Blu-ray right before the debut of season two early next month.

Twentieth Century Fox has announced that its new science-fiction movie to be directed by Sir Ridley Scott, which had started development as an Alien prequel, will now be produced as a totally unrelated movie, titled Prometheus. This is good news for those that had refrained from buying the recently released Alien Anthology Blu-ray box set for fear of a double-dip if a bigger box set including the prequel was released later.

The Criterion Collection has announced six titles for Blu-ray release in April. On April 12, it will release Le cercle rouge (Jean-Pierre Melville, 1970) and White Material (Claire Denis, 2009). A week later, it will release Kes (Ken Loach, 1969) and Sweetie (Jane Campion, 1989). And finally, on April 26 it will release Blow Out (Brian De Palma, 1981) and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (Terry Gilliam, 1998). With the obvious exception of Le cercle rouge, all digital transfers are director-approved.

The Blu-ray.com team is happy to announce another site upgrade, this time a similar titles suggestions/recommendations feature has been added to the bottom of all Blu-ray profiles/entries. This is the first version of the Similar Titles feature, so all suggested titles won't be ideal, but we still think the suggestions are better than most other sites', including IMDB. The Similar Titles feature/system is a variant of an artificial neural network and will provide better and better suggestions over time (self-learning).

After first saying that Formula One would be saddled with standard-definition broadcast until 2012, Formula One Management has finally yielded and announced that the 2011 championship would be broadcast in HD. Although Blu-ray has not been mentioned at the time, this opens the door to the release of a highlights BD at the end of the season, like the one already available (in the UK only) for the MotoGP 2010 championship.

Independent label Cinema Guild has announced its first Blu-ray release, Marwencol, with a street date of April 12. This documentary about a photographer who, after coming out of a coma with brain damage, builds a 1:6 scale WWII-era town in his backyard won the best documentary award at SXSW. It is currently playing at selected theaters across North America.

Now, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has come through and made available replacement Blu-ray discs for any consumer that has had an issue playing their copy of Sunshine.
