Onkyo Introduce Their First 3D Blu-ray Player, the BD-SP309

Onkyo today announced their first 3D Blu-ray player and several new home theater items. The new BD-SP309 will play Full HD 3D content and stream advanced lossless codecs via HDMI. It comes with two USB ports (one on the front the other on the back) for external storage connectivity and has on demand internet services including Pandora, NetFlix and VUDU via the Ethernet port or the UWF-1 wireless dongle. The player will be available in May at a reasonable $249.





Onkyo also introduced several HTiBs, the top of the range S9400THX is a 7.1 surround system with THX certification. The top three models, The Onkyo HT-S7400, HT-S8400, and HT-S9400THX, all include Ethernet networking for internet radio services such as Pandora, Last.fm and SiriusXM Internet Radio among many more. They are also compatible with Onkyo's wireless USB adapter the UWF-1 which enables 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity to the internet and your home network. The models all use the new Marvell Qdeo 4K upscaling for the yet to be released 4K or 2160p displays so you won't be left out in the cold should you decide to invest in a new TV. The systems can also be controlled via iPhone or iPad using Onkyo's free Remote App
The Onkyo HT-S7400, HT-S8400, and HT-S9400THX will be available in May with retail prices of $799, $899, and $1099 respectively. The lower end HT-S6400 HTiB and SKS-HT690 speaker system will become available in July with MSRPs of $699 and $449 respectively

The new Onkyo AV Receiver, the TX-NR709, will be available in late April and will ship with the all the same features as listed above in addition to WRAT amplifiers and a wide range of audio processing from the usual suspects of Dolby, DTS and Audyssey.
