Warner Archive, in association with Hammer Films, is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Terence Fisher's Dracula (1958), starring Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Michael Gough, Melissa Stribling, and Carol Marsh. The releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 27.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Will Gluck's romantic dramedy One Night Only (2026), starring Monica Barbaro, Callum Turner, Bobby Cannavale, Molly Ringwald, and LeVar Burton. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

The UK branch of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has officially announced Marmaduke for Blu-ray release on February 14, on a "Triple Play" (BD/DVD/Digital Copy) combo pack. This family movie stars a good-natured Great Dane (voiced by Owen Wilson) that moves to a new neighborhood and causes "fur-flying chaos" wherever he goes.

Machete was easily the top-selling title on Blu-ray during the week ending January 9, according to Nielsen VideoScan. Robert Rodriguez's exploitation extravaganza also got 41% of its total sales from the BD edition. On the other hand, Dinner for Schmucks only made it to number 5, despite multiple promotions and coupons in place.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced Daylight for Blu-ray release on April 26. This 1996 action movie starring Sylvester Stallone and directed by Rob Cohen had been released in 2007 on the defunct HD DVD format. The BD will be presented in a single-sided BD50 disc, and will include a lossless audio track.

BFI Video has announced the third release from the its Adelphi Collection for release on February 14: The Crowded Day / Song of Paris, a vintage double bill of drama and comedy from British director John Guillermin (Death on the Nile, The Towering Inferno), released for the very first time, in a Dual Format Edition with Blu-ray and DVD discs of both films.

Anchor Bay Entertainment and Manga have announced Dead Space: Aftermath, the new animated horror film companion to the Dead Space 2, available on Blu-ray in the UK from January 24 2011, in association with Film Roman and Electronic Arts. A movie double pack containing both Dead Space features (Dead Space: Downfall and Dead Space: Aftermath) will also be available on the same day.

The French branch of Warner Home Video has announced that, on May 18, it will release Lolita and Barry Lyndon. These are the two only Stanley Kubrick movies in WHV's library that for some reason hadn't seen a high-definition release back in 2007. Edition details are unknown as of yet.

On February 14, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will re-release Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind as part of the "Blu-ray Essentials" collection. At the CES electronics fair, Audiovox Corporation announced the introduction of the industry's first automotive (in-car) Blu-ray Disc player that plays any Blu-ray Discs as well as traditional DVDs and CD Audio Discs. The AVDBR1 is priced at $349.99 and will be available in spring. It is installed under the seat or in a storage compartment in the vehicle and connects to any monitor by using either the HDMI, composite or component output.

Paramount Home Entertainment has revealed the full release details for Cecil B. DeMille's The Ten Commandments, which, as reported yesterday, will come out on Blu-ray on March 29 in two editions: a two-disc Blu-ray edition and a six-disc, limited-edition Blu-ray/DVD combo gift set, the latter of which will prominently include the silent 1923 version of The Ten Commandments in high definition and more.

Well Go USA has announced today that it has acquired North American Blu-ray rights to the Japanese horror movie Blood and that it will release it on BD on March 15. Blood, starring Aya Sugimoto (Flower & Snake, Flower & Snake II) and Guts Ishimatsu (Black Rain, Empire of the Sun) and directed by Ten Shimoyama, director of the international hit Shinobi: Heart Under Blade, mixes "erotic" vampires with ancient Samurai warriors.

Warner Home Video has announced Due Date for Blu-ray release on February 22, 2011, in a BD/DVD/Digital Copy Combo Pack. This comedy road movie directed by Todd Phillips, stars Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis. For its Blu-ray deal of the week, Amazon is offering The Last of the Mohicans for $14.99 (57% off MSRP). This price is valid through January 15. Apparently, Amazon's deal of the week can now include single-disc titles rather than only box sets, as it used to do.

An early announcement to retailers indicates that on April 12, 2011, Walt Disney Home Entertainment will bring the Brad Bird animated Pixar film The Incredibles to Blu-ray Disc. The studio will release the title as a 4-disc set comprised of two Blu-ray discs, a DVD, and a Digital Copy with a suggested price of $45.99.

At the CES show in Las Vegas, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. announced that the two leaders of technology and entertainment are "joining forces for more immersive entertainment experiences" in 2011. Consumers who purchase a new Samsung 3D TV will gain exclusive access to two of DWA's new 3D Blu-ray titles, including Megamind, which will be made available in 2011. DWA and Samsung also intend to explore joint research and development activities and a number of expanded co-marketing initiatives throughout the year.

On January 10, Momentum Home Entertainment will release the Blu-ray edition of The Girl Who Played with Fire, the screen adaptation of the second installment of Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy. According to the Digital Entertainment Group (DEG), Blu-ray software sales rose 68% in 2010, with $1.8 billion sales revenue. BD rentals were also up 24% in brick-and-mortar outlets. Regarding hardware, 11.25 million Blu-ray playback devices – including set-top players and game consoles – sold in calendar 2010 (six million of them in the fourth quarter).

At the CES show in Las Vegas Panasonic Corporation introduced an expanded Blu-ray Disc player lineup with four new Blu-ray players, three of them 3D compatible, three 3D home theater systems, and a new portable BD player. The new models introduce Skype video/voice communication, Touch-Free sensor, iPhone remote feature, built-in WiFi and reduced power consumption. They will be available in the spring.
