Dracula (1958) 4K Blu-ray

Warner Archive, in association with Hammer Films, is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Terence Fisher's Dracula (1958), starring Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Michael Gough, Melissa Stribling, and Carol Marsh. The releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 27.

One Night Only Collector's Edition 4K Blu-ray

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Will Gluck's romantic dramedy One Night Only (2026), starring Monica Barbaro, Callum Turner, Bobby Cannavale, Molly Ringwald, and LeVar Burton. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

BFI Preparing Bernardo Bertolucci's Before the Revolution

The British Film Institute have revealed that they are working on a Dual Format release of Bernardo Bertolucci's Prima della rivoluzione a.k.a Before the Revolution (1964), which will be out later this year. In the United States, the film has appeared only on VHS, courtesy of the now defunct New Yorker Video.

Hong Kong-based distributors CN Entertainment have announced that they will release Lee Sang-il's Villain (2010) on Blu-ray on April 20th. Earlier this year, the film was one of the big winners at the Japanese Academy Awards, taking five awards: Best Actor (Satoshi Tsumabuki), Best Actress (Eri Fukatsu), Best Supporting Actor (Akira Emoto), Best Supporting Actress (Kirin Kiki), and Best Music Score (Joe Hisaishi).

Tangled Top-selling Blu-ray of the Week

Tangled was far and away the top-selling title on Blu-ray during the week ended April 3, according to data from Nielsen VideoScan. Disney's latest animated movie sold over five times more than number 2, Black Swan. The highest BD sales percentage was for Funimation's Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance, which got 57% of its total disc sales from the Blu-ray edition.

Today Disney is releasing TRON: Legacy on Blu-ray, the long awaited sequel the hit 1980's video game inspired film TRON. While the film is unlikely to cause the same amount of uber-fandom as the original - to include the infamous "TRON Guy" - those same fans who loved the original have likely already ventured to their local stores to pick up a copy of both films in high definition.

An early announcement to retailers indicates that 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will release Sleeping with the Enemy on Blu-ray on June 28.
