In its first week of release Disney's
Gnomeo & Juliet bowed on top of the Blu-ray sales chart with 36% of total package media sales coming from the HD format.
Gnomeo finished its domestic box office run with a total just under $100 million and managed to topple last week's Blu-ray sales champ
The Mechanic from the No. 1 sales spot.
Another new Disney release,
I Am Number Four, finished at No. 2 in both the Blu-ray and the overall sales chart.
Four did manage a higher percentage of total package media sales from Blu-ray with a strong 43% stake. With no other significant new releases for the week, Disney managed an impressive one-two punch in both the Blu-ray and overall sales charts.
Last week's No.1 title
The Mechanic could not overcome the new releases from Disney and fell two spots in the Blu-ray sales chart to No. 3.
Mechanic did continue to generate strong sales for Blu-ray as 37% of its total package media sales were attributed to the format.
