Independent U.S. distributors Milestone Films have revealed that they are planning to begin releasing on Blu-ray later this summer. In the past, Milestone Films have distributed films by such masters of cinema as Alfred Hitchcock, Hiroshi Teshigahara, Luchino Visconti, Pier Paolo Pasolini, F.W. Murnau, Orson Welles, and Luis Bunuel, and renowned contemporary directors such as Takeshi Kitano, Jane Campion, Hirokazu Kore-eda, Alan Berliner and Philip Haas.
Though the distributors have not made an official announcement yet, they have revealed that they are preparing two very impressive boxsets - one containing Lionel Rogosin's
On the Bowery
(1957) and
Good Times Wonderful Times (1966), the other containing the director's
Come Back Africa (1959) and
Black Roots (1970). Here are some preliminary details for the two boxsets:
