Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

British distributors Artificial Eye have revealed that they are planning to release on Blu-ray Belgian brothers Jean Pierre and Luc Dardenne's latest film Le gamin au vélo a.k.a The Kid with a Bike (2011), starring Thomas Doret, Cécile De France (Haute tension), and Jérémie Renier (L'enfant). The preliminary release date set by the distributors is June 25th.

Independent distributors Severin Films have announced that they are preparing a Dual Format Edition of Douglas Hickox's Zulu Dawn (1979), starring Burt Lancaster, Simon Ward, Bob Hoskins, and Peter Vaughan. Using a new high-definition transfer struck from the original negative, the release is expected to be available for purchase in the summer.

Mother’s Day Blu-ray

This May, Anchor Bay Home Entertainment will bring Mother's Day to Blu-ray. Rebecca DeMornay (Risky Business), Jamie King (Sin City), Frank Grillo (Warrior), and Shawn Ashmore (Frozen) star in director Darren Lynn Bousman's remake of the 1980 Troma cult favorite about an increasingly bloody hostage situation. Mother's Day is expected to street on May 8th.

The second theatrical collaboration between director Steve McQueen (Hunger) and star Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class), this intense character study focuses on Fassbender's Brandon, a successful New York City executive in the grasp of sexual addiction. Shame streets on April 17th.

Last year, Brett Ratner's heist comedy Tower Heist had the misfortune of garnering notoriety for seemingly everything but the finished film. Star Eddie Murphy wanted to create an all-African-American riff on the Ocean's Eleven franchise. When Murphy (initially) left the project, Ratner completely reworked the project, and Universal touted the revised version as the newest and most high-profile video-on-demand feature.

La Grande Illusion Gets UK Release Date

Studio Canal have officially announced that they will release on Blu-ray Jean Renoir's classic La Grande Illusion (1937), starring Jean Gabin, Dita Parlo, Erich von Stroheim, and Julien Carette. The Blu-ray release follows a brand new 4K restoration of the the film. Street date is April 23rd.

Director Steven Spielberg's interpretation of the Hergé graphic novels, this animated adventure stars Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot) as Tintin, an intrepid reporter whose acquisition of a model ship inadvertently sends him on a globe-trotting treasure hunt. The Adventures of Tintin streets on March 13th.
