Disney Changes Release Date For Spielberg's Robopocalypse

Following the arrival of its new chief, Alan Horn, Disney has announced new release dates for a number of upcoming high-profile films, including Steven Spielberg's Robopocalypse and Gore Verbinski's The Lone Ranger.

Based on the novel by bestselling author Daniel H. Wilson, Spielberg's futuristic thriller was initially set to be released in 2013, but Disney has now moved it to 2014. The new release date is April 25, 2014. The film is co-produced by Fox and DreamWorks.

The release date for Gore Verbinski's The Lone Ranger, starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Armie Hammer, has been moved from May 31, 2013 to July 3, 2013.

The release date for Alan Taylor's Thor 2, starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Natalie Portman, has also been moved from November 15, 2013 to November 8, 2013.
