Sixteen Candles Blu-ray

As part of its 100th Anniversary this year, Universal Studios Home Entertainment will offer special reissues of selected catalog titles, and the Sixteen Candles Blu-ray will arrive in the September wave. Director John Hughes' classic comedy centers around young Samantha Baker (Molly Ringwald, The Breakfast Club), a teenager who endures one humiliation after another on her sixteenth birthday.

Samantha's chief concerns: trying to get longtime crush Jake Ryan (Michael Schoeffling, Mermaids) to notice her while avoiding the increasingly unwelcome advances of freshman lothario "The Geek" (Anthony Michael Hall, The Dark Knight).

In addition to Ringwald, Hall, and Schoeffling, Hughes' film has a talented ensemble cast that includes Paul Dooley (Hairspray), Gedde Watanabe (Gremlins 2: The New Batch), Liane Curtis (Benny & Joon), Brian Doyle-Murray (Groundhog Day), and early appearances from Jami Gertz (The Lost Boys), John Cusack (Say Anything), and Joan Cusack (Shameless).

Universal's Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack presents the film in its 1.85:1 original aspect ratio with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. The disc also contains the following bonus supplements:
