Gwendoline Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray

Severin Films has dated and detailed its upcoming Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of Just Jaeckin's Gwendoline (1984), starring Tawny Kitaen, Brent Huff, Zabou Breitman, Bernadette Lafont, and Jean Rougerie. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on November 24.

Blu-ray Sales: August 16-22: Project Hail Mary Grabs Achilles' Heel in Week Two

For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. Second place went to Troy, which was released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, while third place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025).

This Week on Blu-ray: August 31-September 6

For the week of August 31st, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release 28 Days Later on 4K UHD. New releases include the anime series Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc (2025) from Crunchyroll and Dry Leaf from Cinema Guild. Catalog titles on Blu-ray include Ten Women in Black and The Magnificent Cuckold from Radiance Films, while catalog titles on 4K UHD include The Hot Spot from Radiance and Tekkonkinkreet from Shout Factory and GKIDS.

Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Independent British distributors Park Circus have detailed their upcoming Q4 releases. The distributors will release Bertrand Tavernier's Death Watch (1980), starring Romy Schneider and Harvey Keitel, on Blu-ray, and Dick Richards' Farewell, My Lovely (1975), starring Robert Mitchum and Charlotte Rampling, and Georges Méliès's A Trip to the Moon (1902) on DVD.

For the week ending on September 16th, Universal Studios' Snow White and the Huntsman held the highest Blu-ray and overall home media sales figures. Director Rupert Sanders' dark fantasy amassed a worldwide box-office gross of over $396 million after it premiered last June, but the behind-the-scenes travails surrounding the film have recently eclipsed its theatrical fortunes.

Screen Media has acquired exclusive distribution rights to the Media 8 library, which contains more than 2,000 films, including the Oscar winning Monster, starring Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci, Man About Town, starring Ben Affleck and Rebecca Romijn, and United States Of Leland, starring Ryan Gosling and Don Cheadle.

In the fall, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will bring Men in Black III to Blu-ray. This installment in the successful science-fiction-comedy franchise finds MIB Agents J (Will Smith, Independence Day) and K (Tommy Lee Jones, The Fugitive) investigating a series of interplanetary crimes linked to alien assassin Boris The Animal (Jemaine Clement, Dinner for Schmucks). Men in Black 3 is expected to street on November 30th.

The Criterion Collection has announced four titles for Blu-ray release in December. On December 4th, the studio will release Purple Noon (René Clement, 1960) and Brazil (Terry Gilliam, 1985). A week later, on December 11th, it will release The Qatsi Trilogy (Godfrey Reggio, 1983-2002) and Following (Christopher Nolan, 1998).

Entertainment One and DreamWorks Studios Become Partners

Canadian juggernaut Entertainment One and DreamWorks Studios have signed a four-year distribution agreement for the UK and Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg). The first film that will be channeled through the new agreement, which covers theatrical and home video releases, is director Ken Scott's comedy Starbuck (2013), starring Vince Vaughn, Cobie Smulders, and Chris Pratt.

Excision is Richard Bates Jr.'s directorial debut and is adapted from his highly praised short film.
