Ice Cream Man 4K Blu-ray

Alliance Entertainment is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man (2026), starring Ari Millen, Charlie Zeltzer, Shiloh O'Reilly, Sarah Abbott, and Benjamin Byron Davis. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on October 20.

Blu-ray Sales: August 9-15: Project Hail Mary Fends Off Mars Attacks! in First Week

For the week that ended on August 15th, Alliance Entertainment's Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts in its debut. Second place on the Blu-ray-only chart went to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Mars Attacks!, which was released on 4K UHD this week, while third place went to Warner's own Mortal Kombat II in its third week.

This Week on Blu-ray: August 24-30

For the week of August 24th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment will release Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Other new releases include Disclosure Day from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, The Sheep Detectives from Alliance Entertainment, Abraham's Boys: A Dracula Story from Shudder, Carolina Caroline from Magnolia Home Entertainment, Reacher: Season Three from Paramount Home Media Distribution, Father Mother Sister Brother from MUBI, Power Ballad from Lionsgate Home Entertainment, The Breadwinner from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and The Audacity: Season 1 from AMC Studios.

The Rock 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray

20th Century Studios is preparing a combo pack release of Peter Weir's Dead Poets Society (1989), starring Robin Williams, Robert Sean Leonard, Ethan Hawke, Josh Charles, and Gale Hansen. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on September 29.

Copper: Season Two Blu-ray

BBC Home Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray release of Copper: Season Two. Set in 1860s New York City, the 13-part BBC drama stars Tom Weston-Jones as Kevin Corcoran, an intense, rugged Irish-American cop working the city's notorious Five Points neighborhood. The series' second season arrives on Blu-ray on January 7, 2014.

French label Pathe Distribution has revealed that it is planning to bring to Blu-ray a number of classic films. Amongst them are Patrice Chereau's recently restored La reine Margot a.k.a Queen Margot (1994), Abel Gance's La Roue a.k.a The Wheel (1922), and Milos Forman's Valmont (1989).

Raro to Release Franco Prosperi's Meet Him and Die

Independent distributors Raro Video have revealed that they are planning to bring to Blu-ray Italian director Franco Prosperi's crime thriller Meet Him and Die a.k.a Pronto ad uccidere (1976), starring Ray Lovelock, Elke Sommer, Martin Balsam, and Ettori Manni. The release is set to arrive on the U.S. market in early 2014.

Image Entertainment Acquires Odd Thomas

Image Entertainment has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to director Stephen Sommers' (Deep Rising, The Mummy) latest film Odd Thomas (2013), starring Anton Yelchin, Ashley Sommers, Leonor Varela, and Willem Dafoe. The company plans to release it in early 2014.

FUNimation announced the Blu-ray/DVD combo release of OniAi: The Complete Series, and also revealed it to be the distributor's first subtitle-only title. In a brief Q&A, FUNimation discussed the reasons behind issuing a subtitle-only release and preemptively addressed concerns as to why an English dub isn't included. OniAi arrives on Blu-ray on December 31st.

BBC Home Entertainment will release Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor on Blu-ray this December, just two weeks after the 50th Anniversary special makes its November 23rd broadcast debut in both the US and UK. The 75-minute 3D special streets on December 10th, and is being made available as a 3D/Blu-ray/DVD combo pack.

Duck Dynasty: Seasons 1-3 Collector's Set Blu-ray

Lionsgate is bringing Duck Dynasty to Blu-ray by way of a Seasons 1-3 Collector's Set. The 6-disc set includes every episode from the popular A&E series' first three seasons, more than 70 minutes of bonus footage, additional extras and a duck camo bandanna. Duck Dynasty makes its Blu-ray debut on December 3rd.

Madonna: MDNA World Tour Blu-ray Recall

Interscope Records has issued a recall for the North American Blu-ray edition of the Madonna MDNA World Tour, citing "an error in manufacturing that has compromised the 5.1 audio." Madonna herself addressed issues surrounding the disc last week, perhaps expediting the recall. A formal re-release has yet to be detailed.

A preliminary street date for this upcoming release is yet to be revealed.
